Villains that we have seen in Nolan's films were Scarecrow, Ra's Al Ghul, Falcone, Victor Zsasz (cameo in Batman Begins), The Joker, Maroni, Two-Face, Bane and Catwoman (was not actually a villain). But here are who else could have worked in Nolan's universe.
I was actually hoping he would use the Black Mask, but Bane and Talia al Ghul worked out very well who are such iconic villains as are Cottilard and Hardy's portrayals.
Nolan said from the beginning he wouldn't be using the Penguin as he doesn't fit in the universe he created.
Plenty of people talk about Bane (lol you’re too retarded to know how to spell it) and Talia Al Ghul is one of the most iconic villains in comic book history.
You said no one ever talked about Bane, if I can prove at least one person talks about Bane then that means your premise is debunked. The number of people who I showed talking about Bane is irrelevant and a non sequitur.
Your premise was that TDKR was a bad movie, arguing that TDK is another non sequitur and even I already stated the data says TDK is better.
Black Mask, to me, made a lot of sense for the third film because the first was the mob, the second was the Joker/mask villains, and the third might have been a synthesis of those two. I understand why he went with the villains he did, but Black Mask seemed an obvious fit.
I was also kinda hoping that he'd have given Scarecrow more of a payoff in the third one after using him more as Jonathan Crane than his alter-ego (kinda like what we got with Two-Face).
Riddler is a little too "small-time" for the epic scope Nolan was always aiming for, and Harley Quinn would need a lot of re-tooling to work, I think.
Deadshot would've fit in perfectly, though. Zsasz would've been awesome as a Zodiac Killer type character - a Batman movie where he's actually a detective...imagine the possibilities...
What about Anarky? He could've expanded on the hockey pad-wearing dudes in TDK and had Batman basically fighting an evil version of himself.
It might have been interesting to see him tackle some of the weirder foes, too. Like, how would Nolan ground Poison Ivy? She could be an eco-terrorist with no plant powers. Could he handle Man-bat or Clayface without breaking the universe?
Monstrous villains like Man-Bat or Clay-Face would had been a no-go. Too fantastical. Poison Ivy could had just been a rogue scientist turned eco-terrorist. Oddly she would had complimented Ras Al Ghul probably better than Scarecrow.
Eh the thing is though after the events of TDK it makes sense that the mob wouldn’t be a serious threat in the 3rd film. I’m glad he chose Bane and Talia al Ghul, two very competent and iconic villains but in the new incarnation of Batman I hope we see the Black Mask.
I think a version of Mr Freeze could've worked too honestly. Maybe the Mad Hatter as well? I also agree with the comments throwing in Anarky. It'd be really cool to see him in live action.
