Nothing would have convinced Nolan to recast the role of the Joker—doesn’t matter who the actor was. There’s a reason TDKR is devoid of any mention of the Joker.

As far as Bane is concerned, apart from his disappointing exit he absolutely makes the film for me (not similar to the Joker in TDK considering that film has so much more to admire). He may have not been as vibrant as the Joker, but he was a dominating presence through and through. Hardy killed it.
