Try watching the final fight between Batman and Bane again

Only this time, focus on everyone else fighting around Bane and Batman. It looks so fake. A bunch of extras miming fighting. It looks like an improv group.

Well you wanna know why they aren´t really fighting to death?
Because it´s a movie, duh.

reply

Don't be reductive. I'm saying it didn't look real. It looked so fake I didn't buy what I was watching onscreen. Whereas I watch Bane and Batman and I buy what I'm seeing.

reply

Looked real to me, sounds like you weren’t paying attention to the main focus

reply

the fight and the entire film, are godawful.

reply

Damn, now I spotted some smiling/cheerful extras! Ugh.

XD

Still easy to focus on just Bane and Bats. (A little less than before, though.) But overall these extras do make for one of the most unconvincing fight crowds in a movie. And let’s not forget that this movie also has that infamous extra who gets knocked out in the rooftop scene with Bats and Catwoman by... an unseen force? Lol

reply

Almost all big crowd scenes have this problem. You definitely don't want to look too hard at what's going on around the action in Braveheart.

...or Enter the Dragon

reply

lol yeah. Watching that movie a thousand times definitely brought all the flaws to the surface.

The choreography/extras (whichever you want to blame) was pretty lame in this one. I don't think there should be any excuses to get it right for those fighting in the foreground compared to in the distant background. Wasn't this one of the most expensive films of all time? Can they not afford better extras/choreographers?
