Really wish they would stop trying to soften up Wednesday

Wednesday is supposed to be sadistic who shows no mercy. She's supposed to be fascinated with death with her passion for misery. Yet they make her care about people who are in danger or who die in front of her. That's not Wednesday Addams. And having her hug Enid people could argue is character development, but Wednesday isn't supposed to change or much less care. Having her be a hero and detective trying to save the school would not be the Wednesday Addams we know from The Addams Family.

She's not a robot though. She stays true to the character while also wanting to save the school. Other students want to be her friend, but she doesn't exactly reciprocate.

Wednesday was never supposed to be a main character so there is the first problem. Now that she is they feel they have to maker appeal to as broad an audience as possible so they have to water her down. Otherwise the show would be dark and niche which is what it should be to begin with.
