shareIf you watch the extras on the season 1 dvd, you can tell that it's all gone to his head. He's so obnoxious - and it's carrying over to the character as well.

I was thinking the same thing! I was like "No they wouldn't....Would they??" Atleast he seemed more like the Season 1 version of Sammy.
shareyeah sammy has to be brought back to his season 1 roots, I think his best moment was in piss test near the end where he was in the goat costume and it was all torn up and gross looking and he still thought it could get him laid that part actually made me laugh. His worst season 2 part was in Nerds near the end where he pulled off his prank and we seen his ugly mug on the projector screen

Thad is hilariously insane even better in S2. Vision Quest was one awesome episode for sure.
Sammy was a lot better in S1. The jerk you off party was really well done. Everything he did felt forced this season and it would have been better if he really was killed of in the last episode.

There has to be some kinda Bizzaro Parrellel universe where Sammy is loved cuase I cant see why he' such a focal point of the show, even though he's a writer and co-creater his character is terrible and he's a crap actor. I wonder if they use his family as the focus group?

Yea I didn't like the episode though I didn't like season's 2 premiere episode either. Sammy had a role but I was glad half the show didn't revolve around him like it has in the past. Hopefully, they don't have Denise Richard's character get too much air time, as I am thinking that might happen

Glad I'm not alone in not liking Sammy. The season 3 premier was especially disturbing. Unless I've missed something Mary Jo is his SISTER and he gets turned on by the fact that she's a lesbian now???? That's too disturbing even for this show

I agree, I think sammy has gotten more and more annoying with the time passing. I really wish he would just leave the show or at least just get a lot less screen time.
Alan Ritchson is indeed a genius in the role of Thad. In the first few episodes he was so and so but he's gotten so good I watch the show mostly for him now since the rest of it isn't that funny anymore.

shareI really like Sammy's character. There isn't an ounce of reality that concerns him, and he's completely non-believable, which is kind of the point. He's the absurd real-life "devil on the shoulder" of Alex, and the stuff he gets into and causes is just ridiculous.
To each their own, I guess, though I do like the character more when he's not quite as evil as he seems to be mid-way through Season 2 (haven't made it to Season 3 yet).
I like Sammy,though i did find that episode where he drinks his own piss a little to disgusting.Otherwise,awesome character.It goes well with the show,having a delicious salad of insane,absurd,yet hilarious characters.
shareSammy reminds me of the individuals who surround themselves with football players 100% of the time in college even tho they don't do crap for their school... It's funny too. He's nerdy but pictures himself as a jock... I liked Sammy but yes there were some instances in the episodes where he makes me dislike his character; however in the end of the episodes I found myself liking him again.
My favorite part is that he sets the tone of the series: When he blackmails the original 6'4 Asian BMS mascot in the pilot episode. You might not notice that this show has a lot of dark humor and shows that anyone will do anything to get by at this college.
Thing is: Sammy never got the "death penalty" like the starters got in that episode. Sammy could very well continue being the mascot for another season. But face it, Thad is gone; unless they say that he "red-shirted" his first season. Honestly, I know for sure this series is over. I gotta thank Romanski for bringing this great show to us
