I just re-watched this for the first time since 2013....

I now have the opinion this film is CRIMINALLY underrated!

I bought this movie on Blu Ray the day in came out. I Loved it the first time I watched it....

I watched it again some months later in 2013 and again LOVED it...

But for whatever reason I hadnt re-watched it again In Years.

I'm glad this movie has a good reputation,But I must say after watching again just now years later....I think Its criminally underrated and should get even more credit than it already gets.

Its a shame this film didnt get a sequel

Or a fair shake at the box office, I remember when this movie was released, It was Plagued by MONTHS of Pre-Release negativity and Post Production problems that Killed all hype and box office chances...

Not a non-sequitor.....I get that the question may seem like its out of the blue....

but if you truthful answer the question, it would lead to a conclusion that follows...

I think you are a Giant Pussy thats either never been in a fight in your life or you've been bullied, picked on and beat up your whole life and therefor you act tough on the internet...

Its not a non-sequitor, The question was asked for a specific reason, If you are a Giant Pussy and have never been in a fight because you are scared, It would follow and make sense thats why you try to act like a touch guy on the internet...

If you have been picked on and beat up your whole life, again It would follow and make sense you are now trying to bully people and act touch on the internet because it make you feel like The Touch Guy you clearly arent.

I watch it all the time. It's one of my go-to getting a buzz started flicks. Great way to get ramped up for a night out on the town.

it is a fine film for sure, I was blown away by the cinematography. its even better on a 7.1 surround.

I watched it over the weekend and I think it is the first time I've watched it since I saw it in theaters. I really enjoyed it when I saw it in theaters, but I don't believe I've ever so much as caught it on TV since. I remember wanting to buy it after I saw it, but I always put it off and just forgot to do it.

But DAMN, this movie is fucking AWESOME.The sets and costumes - minus his helmet - are just fantastic, Lena Heady is just viscous as MaMa and both Urban and Thirlby are very good too. Hell, Wood Harris was great. He's such a fucking skeevy character and since we spend more time with him than MaMa, we really get to see how disturbed he is. I cannot believe this bombed, especially when fans complain about a lack of Rated-R action movies.

The script for Dredd was leaked, it was ripped by the makers of The Raid, but they were able to film and release their film much quicker than it took to produce Dredd. So when Dredd came out it received a lot of backlash and media hit pieces for ripping off a "small Asian indie film" when the opposite is what actually happened. Gareth Evans is from the UK and for sure has heard of 2000AD and Judge Dredd.

The ratings are also sabotaged by The Raid fanboys who are rabid about this until the facts are pointed out to them, then they always change their tone to, "who cares who ripped off who the raid is better!"

The Raid 2 is the movie they were trying to shop to financiers before stealing from the leaked Dredd script.

So if that didn't happen we probably would have gotten multiple sequels like John Wick got, John Wick was actually marketed as an action film like Dredd. Very unjust world where John Wick gets multiple sequels and Dredd can't even get 1.

Reminds me a little of the also awesome Snowpiercer for its action in a contained area.
