He said Genisys better respects the tone of the Terminator movies than JW does for the JP films.......can he even think that?
How in any way, shape or form is Terminator Genisys tonally similar to the Terminator. One is a tense, atmospheric and gripping while the other is a film about a robot called Pops made for babies.

No. The money part just proves people like dinosaurs more than violent dystopian robot time travel movies.

Jurrassic Park earned $403M lifetime gross. The MOST financially successful terminator film (T2), made $203M lifetime gross.

They're not comparable movies, not at all.
