Might be a spoiler in here.

I've been watching a lot of horror recently, just to see what the fuss is about (I might give a review of the Elm Street, Fri 13th, Halloween and Hellraiser movies sometime). The title is probably meant to make you think the Pope is possessed. He isn't - it's just an exorcist used by the Pope to carry out other exorcisms.

They never exorcised the pope. That means the holy ghost is still in him.
