This is a Really Good Movie

Yeah I Liked it So Sue Me. Did Anyone Else Like It?

I absolutely loved it and ordered the Bluray from Amazon immediately after watching it :)

I finally saw it and I'm now an official Tom Cruise fan. I like a lot of his movies but usually don't get to see so much of him. I like it. He is a good looking man. But I did like the movie for itself.

Death lies dormant in each of us and will bloom in time. Odd Thomas

I can't get enough of this movie. It's like the best guilty pleasure imaginable. I LOVE every song they sing. I think Tom Cruise was awesome as Stacee Jaxx. That scene between Stacee and the reporter in his dressing room was one of the hottest scenes I've ever seen between two people with clothes on. I really wish I could figure out where all of this hate comes from. It's no better or worse than Chicago in my eyes.

Those of us who lived through this era should appreciate the angles of this movie. The songs, the PMRC references, the hair, the bars.... I could go on and on. From the bandanas to the leathers, the story is great. The choice of actors is questionable. I don't like Tom Cruise, but the parellel to him being a washed up rocker that is totally arrogant is a bit on the nose. They made Julianne Hough sound like Brittney Spears, which was annoying. But she is hot enough to overlook that.

Yes, I agree. Like any musical - it doesn't follow real life. People won't like this if they don't like shows like Glee.
80's music is indeed classic - music nowadays can't compare - and we hear so much music from 20th century - less recent music (e.g., in talent competitions, commercials, etc.).

I liked it as well

Nope - it was trite, contrived, really smarmy and cheezy and plastic - it stank. Julie Hough sings with a diaper voice (a pinched sound like some teenager who cannot sing). Tom Cruise was really great in it though, when it was trying to be funny, it was, but those so-called tender moments? UGH! So gross!!
