This wasn't a major plot point, but I'm curious to know what Simone's "illness" was. Based on her actions, it seems like she could have been feigning appendicitis or kidney stones; however, these can be life-threatening and don't align with John's comment about how Simone's treatment would be considered "elective surgery," and therefore "not covered" by the insurance company. If anyone has a more informed opinion I would be interested to hear it!
This post isn't to you, jon-wing. This is for the people who do not understand your question. Listen, you guys: the OP asked what illness Simone is FAKING. The question is NOT "What illness did she have?" If that was the question, your replies about there being no illness would be valid. But that isn't the question. We KNOW she was faking an illness. The question is WHAT she was faking. The illness isn't real, we all know that, but she was faking something. What was she faking? It doesn't matter that the illness didn't exist because the question "What was she faking?" is legitimate. I want you people to understand this. I'm really confused about how some of you don't understand the question.
What baffles me about this thread is people dissing the OP for asking the question, which is quite legitimate. John calls her insurance on the phone in a flashback and then says to her, "You're right, it's not a covered procedure" or words to that effect.
I lol at all the folks who missed such an important plot point and then act all snobbish.
I understand. Thank you for telling me. -The masked bandit
I've had kidney stones. The pain is in your back, not your front. Having said that, you dont always need surgery to remove them, so under some circumstances they could be considered elective surgery. But I think she more likely faking ovarian cancer, and again depending on the situation, it could be considered elective.
