He's a versatile and talented actor. He's fine in this film. I can see that he was trying to channel Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver. Both he and Hilary Swank are too talented to appear in exploitative trash like this. They are attractive actors and this picture could have been about them striking up a legitimate romance. But that wouldn't fare well with today's cynical audience.
