Because it's a cross-over of two heroes!? One of them with problems and uncontrollable and one rather good hero. And not some good heros group vs some hero/villain/bad villains group

I understand that. I like Hulk but come on. How is Wolverine, Captain Ameirca, Spider-Man, DareDevil etc... suppose to fight the Hulk and win? I don't mind a one sided battle but when your watching Hulk get hit and you know it doesn't mean anything because he heals then you already know the outcome.

If they are going to use a power hitter then why not Colossues or the Thing? Those guys could have a decent fight and they might actually lose.

because wolverine 1st appeared in a Hulk comic and was going to be a hulk baddy until the fans reacted well to him and change him to a hero.

Actually Hulk beat an entire team of X-Men in World War Hulk. He also gave a good whoppin' to Doctor Strange.

Not to mentioned Sentry going at it with his all (power of a million exploding suns and all, Hulk took it), Iron Man (in his biggest armor ever), Black Bollt (skrull or no skrull clone, still powerful), Herculese, etc. etc

WWH was great :D

And Hulk isn't one dimensional at all...anyone who has followed the Hulk at all in the past 20 years should no that. He is possibly the most multi-faceted character in all the MU and possible DCU combined.

PS: I'm not saying Hulk is all powerful, in fact in Hulk VS Thor I thought he might hae been almost TOO powerful (I guess depending on which version of Thor he fought makes a difference). Even though he doesn't reach these levels very often, and has been defeated at some point by the ones I listend above. But when he is as focused and angry as we've seen in WWH an War-Hulk, he can elevate himself to fight the most powerful beings in the universe. Even if he looses :)

Hulk has always been in part defined by his Clashes wiht other heroes, that's why this was a natural choice, and frankly my Dad had always wanted to see a Hulk Vs Thor battle brought to life.

Captain America held his own pretty well against HULK in Ultimate Avengers. well, he did pretty well. i really enjoyed that scene at least.
and Wolverine is a savage and him and hulk going at it just seemed rather incredible.

Can the hulk break adamantium?

It's all about the tenacity, never say quit, single mindedness of their characters--their will power,rage, violence, and aggressiveness. Your watching to see how destructive and direct the two are -- the immovable object & unstoppable force thing.

Repetitiveness? Really? We're talking "Hulk Smash." He never said "Hulk do a front semi and land on your neck." Enjoy or don't but you're really just trolling with your arguments against. But, your arguments for other crossovers you can make without trying to rake the Hulk series over the coals.

You would assume it would take less than three years to respond but I have patience lol. Anyway, Jebgeorgesuk I wasn't raking the Hulk series. I was simply pointing out how retarded it is for a guy like Wolverine to try taking on Hulk. See I like this thing called balance.

Balance makes for good, intelligent and interesting fights. A lack of balance makes fights like Thor jobbing like a *beep* to Hulk. A power hitter like Coloussus can do tons of damage and take it but you know he can be taken down with smarts or enough power.

Hulk doesn't work that way. When Colossus would start getting tired and injured, Hulk would have regenerated all the accumulated damage and be back to 100%. Oh did I say 100%? I meant to say 180% because the *beep* gets stronger the angrier he gets.

Not only stronger but he heals faster as well. How do you heal faster than instantaneously? I don't know but I beat it's *beep* fast! I had no arguments for crossovers because I'm not a fanboy.

I simply care about dynamic, intelligent fights. A guy not even in the two ton range shouldn't be able to pierce Hulks skin, let alone internal organs (you know, the ones that heal faster than instantly? those ones).

In the end, all Hulk vs is, is a fanboys wet dream. Until they can do better, he will always be a repetitive boring overpowered character. End of story.

It wasn't that one-sided back then in the comics. Wolverines first apperance was during a hulk issue i believe, and to me, that was one of the best things marvel gave us back then.

I went through WWH, and the hulk creamed everyone, just like hes done in about a couple of arcs already. It was just awesome to watch. Dragon ball and shadow skillz.

yea, he broke both of strange's wrists, smashed up iron mans new Hulk busting suit, and shut blackbolt down.

I think a lot of people underestimate Wolverine most of the time. They just see his healing factor, claws and berserker rage.

His healing factor does much more for him than just making wounds disappear in an instant. It also gives him super strength, almost unnatural reflexes and his increased life-span.

He's easily over 150 years old (depending on what story arc you want to believe)and has traveled the world - gaining many cultures martial arts. Knowledge of how to fight is much more important than brute strength alone.

When Forge (a not as famous member of the X-franchise) monitors Wolverine's vitals during a Danger Room training session, he calls Wolverine's physical and mental state "equivalent of an Olympic-level gymnast performing a gold medal routine while simultaneously beating four chess computers in his head."

That statement alone puts him on par with a lot more of characters in the Marvel Universe than you would think.

In answer to the original poster, Department H didn't have a lot of info on the Hulk, so they sent in Wolverine because he was their best operative and they figured "Well, whatever it is, old claw boy can handle it."

i like wolverine as much as the next guy but the fact that hulk could jump out of the earths atmosphere and simply through wolverine into outer space makes it seem like a very fair fight. And as far as wolverines speed the hulk is fast himself, even though the first live action movie wasnt good it showed the hulks speed and jumping ability better than the second one.

The Hulk Vs The Avengers was great, with Hulk squaring off against Iron Man, Capt America and the rest... really well done and you did get the impression that whilst they weren't able to over power him, they did contain him for a while...

I'm not a massive hulk fan myself, got this more for the Wolverine & Deadpool elements. But it was pretty good.

I fell that sometimes the Hulk isn't the most interesting read/view, as there is not really much that can do him any damage.

If you read the comics, you'll know that he has different personalities.

Like Intelligent Hulk(when he has all of Banner's intellect), Savage Hulk, Grey Hulk, Imperfect Hulk....and so on.

It always seemed to me that the person Hulk was fighting just became that much more cooler for fighting Hulk and being able to walk away from it, regardless if they win or lose. When you have someone as awesome as Hulk, if you can go a few rounds with him, then wow you are just that much more bad ass.

Someone on this board made reference to Hulk beating Blackbolt, which for some reason in my mind seemed absurd. We're talking about Hulk beating a guy that could destroy the world with a mere whisper, haha.

Um no(to OP), Hulk cannot beat Thor, maybe in the Ultimate crap he can, but no, they dumbed him down for this stuff, Hulk is not any kind of Ultimate being, hell, Abomination can kick his ass, Thor can use a hammer that can destroy galaxies, Hulk ain't f'ing with it, comics these days must be on some bull.

Yes Thor has more "powers" than hulk but in terms of strength hulk beats everyone, Silver surfer has the power cosmic and the hulk pieced him up a few times.

The Hulk does not beat "everyone." He has never beat Thor as badly as he did in the short even when he was the Bannerless Hulk. Thor has always held his own.

The Silver Surfer is the one character to constantly defeat the Hulk and pretty much ignore him. Only in the "Planet Hulk" storyline when the Surfer was not able to access his powers and the Hulk had a couple of friends nearly as tough as he is was he able to come close to beating the Surfer.

The Hulk has been beaten plenty of times. The problem is if you listen to the commentary it is obvious Yost and Kyle are Hulk and Wolverine fanboys he decided to take this as an opportunity to show up Thor. He is a skilled warrior who would not just lay there as Hulk hit him with one slow punch after another nor would he suddenly become the Hulk's punching bag.

I said by "Stregth" and I meant brute strength the hulk beats everyone, Yes overall Thor and silver surfer, are overall "stronger" than the hulk because of mijnor and the power cosmic. But yes you are right, In all the times Hulk and Thor have fought, its been mostly a stalemate.

You send in a man who can cut the hulk, can't be broken, and for the most part is difficult to kill. That why Wolverine was sent in. The hulk while powerful can at least be knocked unconscious. WWH ability to defeat the Heroes was actully less power and more strategy.

WWH ability to defeat the heroes was less strategy and more plot stupidity. The only one he got the jump on was Dr. Strange. The rest he came at head on like he always does. He foolishly gave Reed Richards 24-hours prep which considering all of his inventions should have pretty much be in end of it. He decided to attack Black Bolt head on and if a whisper was powerful enough to send the Hulk flying and somewhat hurt a much more powerful yell should have been enough to either send the Hulk flying into space or spread the Hulk across the land scape.
