An example of a reboot done right

When you take elements/ideas of an original franchise and give it a modern spin with just the right amount of heart and intensity, this is a perfect example on how to do it right. Engaging story, good acting, great music, and complete understanding of the concepts of Apes becoming more smart and intelligent than humans and why/how they became that way. Yes, the supervisor character played by David Oyelowo is a typical "businessman who cares about making profits" archetype (although that's not the actor's fault), but that's my only quibble with the reboot. 9/10

Agree, good movie that is very re-watchable.

The Gorilla Buck was a great character and an amazing wing man - wish they hadn't killed him off like that.

this is exactly what I thought after watching it last night. one of the better reboots. also, Draco Malfoy was one dimensional too but you can't ask for too much depth in these kind of summer blockbusters.

Other examples?

I think think of BSG and maybe that's it...
