Why can't they just release all the episodes at once?

If they release one episode a week, that's six weeks total, which translates to a two months D+ subscription.
If they release all episodes at once, that translates to just a one month D+ subscription.
So, the answer is money.
Using the same logic Netflix would do the same but they don't , why?

shareNetflix kinda does this nowadays. Not the episodic thing but they do release some of their big shows in "parts" nowadays.
shareThere is a reason that they don't do this on other streaming services. Even netflix is trying to pull back from this model. It's a terrible way to do business in the entertainment industry.

Cause if a show goes viral or something, the hype just goes away after like 2-3 weeks and it's kinda forgotten.
And the next season doesn't come out for like a year.
I guarantee Netflix regrets starting the precedent of this, that's why they've started pulling back on it. It was fine when they were the only streaming service around, but it says everything that other streaming services don't do this.
shareOne of the things I love that some of the other services do is, they release the first 3 episodes first & then do a weekly episodic release
What I love about that is, You actually get a feel of the show & get to decide "if" you actually wanna watch it or not.
I think Prime Video is the only one that always does it. Some Appletv & HBO Max shows do that but not all of 'em
Also, I don't know if you've watched Arcane (excellent show) but what they did was release 3 episodes a week. 9 episodes total, released in 3 weeks. I'd genuinely love that kind of release schedule.
It is frustrating, however it's a means of gaining and keeping subscribers.
shareI think it is frustrating when they release them all at once. You can not really enjoy talking about the show until you watched them all because others may have watched it all. If they are released week by week everyone is on even ground as it comes out plus you have the buildup of anticipation for the next episode.

I'm convinced it's because negative reviews of the whole series will keep people from tuning in at all. I don't buy the notion about maintaining subscribers.
