That’s sad and a shock; Bond has essentially been a family business of sorts since the beginning what with Barbra’s dad being one of the original producers.
Perhaps it could be a good thing though.
Michael G Wilson and Barbra Broccoli are getting on a bit, so passing the Bond batten over to someone else might keep things fresh, as long as they respect Ian Flemings creation and don’t go woke that is.
Well at least there will be movement now, as it looked like nothing was happening. Obviously the new film (total reboot), and no doubt other stuff - spin off movies, stream series, etc.. ok not ideal for traditionalists , but probably necessary for Bond to get with the times (which Bond has always done). The emphasis must be on the tentpole films though (like Star Wars always should have been) maybe Nolan or tarantino will be viable choices now?
I wonder if Cavill might be back to being in the short list now as I think it was Broccoli and Wilson who specifically said they were only looking at an early 30s actors (ATJ being the front runner) . Amazon might not mind Cavill is older and is pretty much the #1 choice of fans/the internet
I really hope they don't let Cavill anywhere near Bond.
