It didn’t win any Oscars because it was a Netflix movie. This was the highest rated movie by critics and was a masterpiece. Before awards season started it was heavy favorite to win Best Picture and Director, but the Academy’s hate for Netflix films continue. More and more top films will be Netflix movies so eventually they will have to give them their just due.
shareWinning Oscars isn't everything. The ultimate goal when making a movie is not to win an Oscar. Is just an awards show at the end of the year, that's it. In my opinion, you can make an argument for any of the nominee's to be the winner. They just have to pick one of them as the winner. It doesnt mean it's always the right one. I think Mr. Scorsese is more than content with his film legacy.
shareWhy the hell a movie like Parasite is even nominated for Oscar? it's american films award not UN films awards. There's already Best International Feature Film in the Oscar, it's not fair for the artists that are citizens of United States. Also it's clear that it's randomly, none of Fellini or Kurosawa movies never nominated for best picture in the Oscar. It's not clear why some foreign movie nominated and the other not.
