String of deaths in 79/80

Personally i found the ‘date of deaths’ appearing pretty interesting. I think the message was clear that their lifestyle had it’s costs.

The thing i noticed that a lot of deaths occured during the 1979-80 period. Can anyone explain the reason? Was there some war then?

It was the Mattanza, otherwise known as the great mafia war which started in 1978 and continued through the 80's. It was a power struggle by the mafia families resulting in over a thousand deaths.
