Surprisingly good

Better, actually, than IM2. Robert Downy Jr. keeps the character interesting, and that's saying a lot, since Ironman has been in three and a half movies (if you count "Avengers").

I'm not surprised at all how good it turned out but, then again, I enjoyed IM2. Sure IM3 hits higher but nothing Marvel does surprises me in a bad way these days. I knew Shane Black would deliver and we all know RDJ is at the top of his game right now.

reply

Totally agree. Loved it

I don't get the hate I really don't. this film was way better than 2. iron man 2 I could never even get through watching. I had to turn it off when he was getting drunk. the whole film felt more like a Robert downey jr promotion rather than an iron man film (a bit like depp and pirates 3) I sat through this film fine and found it enjoyable enough.

reply

That was the same scene in iron man 2 for me when I checked out. This always kept me impressed and entertained.

reply

So I wasn't the only one!

reply

Nope

reply

I don't get the hate for Iron Man 2. That movie was the next step after IM1 and told in a smart way. Maybe it was the drones? I hope age of Ultron avoids those pitfalls.

reply

Anyone see the impressive home sales numbers? Damn, no wonder everyone is still praising this effort. Surprises a few but most of us knew this would be great.

reply

Not a surprise at all. After the first two gems did anyone think they were going to take a step back now? Of course not. So glad they delivered such a high quality film.

Who are you trying to convince?

Why is this a surprise any more?

Yeah, what really was so surprising? Last year at this time I expected one of the films of the year and IM3 indeed officially delivered that.

reply

Many people are saying that Iron Man 3 was probably the best written of the blockbuster films last year. Why do you think that?

reply

I’ve seen Iron Man described as the ultimate wish-fulfillment role model. After all, who wouldn’t want to be a super-rich billionaire with sex appeal, use their money to become a real-life superhero and have more toys then one knows what to do with. Sounds great right? Well, the beauty of this film is that is dives in to that question raised in Iron Man 2 and delivers so much more.

reply

Why do people keep posting on Marvel boards how surprised they are that a film is good? Is it a short term memory disorder thing? Marvel ALWAYS hits the mark.

reply

Just like come June I know X-Men and Cap 2 will be the best this year has to offer.

Take a look around and see exactly who is trying to say otherwise around here.

I’m sorry that this movie’s complex and thrilling nature upset certain trolls.

Either that or their Marvel hatred has boiled their last few remaining brain cells.

What's not to love?

No film illustrates this better than any of the ten Marvel efforts.

reply

No surprise there!

reply

At least now that time has gone by most people have seen this movie and know the true score and just how good it turned out.
