Well that was something
I loved the original film, it was well shot, gritty and used music cues that induced anxiety. I loved that there was no reason for the killers to be killing them.
That being said...what on earth was this one? The music was used as a joke, each one taking jabs at the situation. The characters were little more than sounding boards and not even done well. Why did the mom just stand there? She could have easily turned around and at least attempted a facade of fighting back. Everyone is loud as hell when they are trying to run and hide, none of them look behind themselves at all. It took a good in movie five minutes for Sack head to kill the dad, who while pinned I’ll give you that, didn’t do anything else at all.
I normally don’t want the killers to win but by killing off all of them it seemed..I don’t know tacky? They could have at least used one or two for another(maybe better)stranger movie. It’s not like they will run out of “based on true events” murder sprees. Though I suppose since the strangers were literal billboards for the murderers(this one wears an older woman mask so probably mother figure, that one a baby doll face so younger woman character and a suit for the domineering male killer) they can get around them being dead, but I liked the idea that they were spree killers. It was just a let down I guess
