Ferris Bueller's Day Off is one of the few teen films I've seen which isn't about sex or sexual tension. I can't imagine a film like that being given the green light today.

I'm sorry but Legally Blonde is not a teen movie. It may have been marketed toward teens but that doesn't mean it's a teen movie. A teen movie has to have at least a majority of it's characters as teenagers. Most of the characters, at least the ones the center on, are in there 20's.

Try actually reading and understanding the post before replying and trying to be a smart-a$$.

Marketed towards teens means its target audience is teenagers, 'geared' for teenagers. However, that does NOT mean its a teen movie. A teen movie revolves/is centered around teenagers in Secondary school or High School, hence the main characters needing to be teenagers, of which Legally Blonde was not.

Sex is a part of human nature. Hell, even Action films feature sex, but that doesn't mean the film revolve around sex. Does "Cinderella" revolve around sex?

No, Cinderella is about abuse & karma. There is a fundamental difference between the romances in the two stories:
In Cinderella (at least the Disney version), Cindy & the prince--both of whom are actually grown--fall in love as they spend quality time together over the course of the evening, and he likes her largely because she's the only woman there who wants to talk about something other than being rich & powerful.
In Romeo & Juliet, the two--who are barely even pubescent--meet eyes across a crowded room & become obsessed with each other, running off to get married after almost no conversation passes between them whatsoever, just so they can get frisky.

R&J is a cautionary tale about teen lust; it "revolves around sex" inherently. Cinderella is a fairy tale about a good person overcoming bad circumstances; it has a sexual undercurrent only as a side effect of that theme.

Clueless and 10 Things are debatable. Clueless has Cher's virginity as a pretty important point as well as something she tries to "conquer" before finding her bf is gay.

10 Things - the main character, who's personality is a huge plot point, became who she was after having sex too soon to "fit in".

Or...maybe Freud was on to something and sex really is just behind everything lol

When you're 17 a cow can seem dangerous and forbidden...am I alone here?

Surprisingly, there wasn't a single sexual act in the entire movie. Just loads of talk and rumors about sex, and imitations of sex noises.

There has been a lot

Karate Kid comes first to mind.

But why not around sex? High school I believe was the time when everything revolve around sex, getting laid and the beautiful species of the opposite sex
