These Olympics have been pretty good

After all the unneccesary political bullshit with the opening ceremony, when you just boil it down the the athletics going on (other than the boxing mess), I've really enjoyed what I've watched. The gymnastics were brilliant as always, and I've always respected the gymnasts for kind of this ultimate display of athleticism and skill. It's so fun to watch it.

The track and field has been amazing, absolutely amazing and shocking in parts. What about that women's 400m hurdles? WOW, the American girl absolutely destroyed the field, she was so far ahead near the end she was almost on the TV screen alone at the finish line.

I don't know, it's just pure athletics, it's not like the athletes are out there making dumb ass statements. I'm sure the USA basketball team is saying dumb things, they always do, but I don't watch that.

I'm looking forward to the breakdance competitions this weekend!

I agree. Fortunately, I didn't watch any of the Opening Ceremony, which probably would have tarnished my view of this Olympics had I seen it.

I'm American and America has done pretty well overall this Olympics (as we should), but I've really enjoyed all the athletes. Some really great performances this Olympics...I think my favorite so far has been the pole vaulter from Sweden (LSU 😀), who set the Olympic and world records with his final jump. I've never seen anyone go over the bar quite like he does... almost straight up and straight down. I can remember what a stud Sergei Bubka was and how amazing it was when he cleared 19 feet. To go well over 20 feet just blows my mind. He was amazing.

Definitely have enjoyed the track and field. A few new world records have been set. Always cool to see that kind of thing.
