Typical Racist White Producers

It's sad they felt the need to exclude the only African American character ( Alvin Alexis ) in order to have an all white cast for this remake.

And wasn't there an Asian girl in the original as well?

reply

I find this really sad . just because the producers did'nt include an African American as one of the main kids in the house doesnt mean they are raciest if you look at the cast Lance E. Nichols WHO IS african american plays srgt dawson . and also Michael Copon who plays dex WHO IS playing one of the main kids in the house is half Filipino . your whole racist theory goes right out the window .

reply

the OP wants it like the original with a black character being one of the main protagonist, like roger from the original.

no risk, no reward.

reply

You need to learn what racism is moron..

reply

Yeah that's racist, but having an all black Honeymooners' cast was not. I'm so sick of the racial double standard. It's OK if they make a white character black but it's racist if they make a black character white. What about I Am Legend? Robert Neville was white. So were the two actors that played the role prior to Will Smith. Rumor has it that Jamie Foxx is gonna play Sinatra in a biopic. Is that racist too?

reply

Where does it say that Robert Neville was white?

reply

"Stella got her groove back" has no white people in it. RACIST black people! Where are the whites?

Miss Black America pageant. No whites. Totally racist.

African American History Month. No room for white history, huh? Seems like regular history books have white and black history. But blacks have their racist history month that excludes whites. Racist.

Black people are for black rights, not equality. I've never heard Louis Farakkan speak of rights for middle easterners or chinese. Or even latinos.

Whites are bigots to each other. Italian and Irish immigrants had it bad in 19th century WASP bigotry toward them. And everyone of every race seems to hates gays and is bigotted toward them. Blacks are plenty racist toward immigrant middle easterners and Koreans/Vietnamese.

Next?

reply

There is no need for a white history month , because every day of the year the standard is to learn white history MORON. Black history month is a crumb thrown to the black community. Think before you open your over privileged entitled mouth.

reply

yeah, black folks can play the race card whenever they like. because whites are playing with the whole deck.

no risk, no reward.

Well if blacks established this country and fought off england. Or done anything significant in other european countries then maybe they would be equally discussed.

reply

Uh, yeah, African-Americans provided the basis for the southern agriculture in the United States which made it possible to even support the colonies prior to the American Revolution. Perhaps you have heard of slavery? If you haven't, let me refresh your memory - white imperialists from Europe and the American colonies decided that it was not cost-effective to have white workers doing the physically demanding labor in the sugar, cotton and tobacco plantations, so they came up with a free source of labor (African slaves). A large percentage of the economy within the Americas, therefore, was due to the labor provided by African-Americans. I think that would qualify as helping to establish the country. Also, before you start to proclaim the supremacy of the white man (I am a white man, by the way), perhaps you should consider that whites are primarily responsible for continued underdevelopment within former African colonies. That may be "significant" to you, but I don't see that as a positive significance, at all. Please try to stamp out your ignorance before you post idiotic statements on the internet - wouldn't it be nice if only those who personally know you were aware that you're a moron?

reply

Omg, thank you sooo much COLEIA. I can always foresee the ignorace and there is A LOT of it in this thread. WTF, black people didnt contribute to this country? They sure did and without any pay or thanks. Oh, they didnt have a CHOICE either if u ever had a History class you'd know that. Some of you are ignorant as hell and it's sad u dont know it. I love how white people get anxious over the "race card" and are quicker to say something IS NOT racist before even reading the details. Or claim racism doesnt exist while they sneak away to display their racism on Youtube or messageboards such as this one. Grow up, you're singlehandedly making our country dumber. But whatever, be proud of ur shocking stupidity.

And to the original poster, huh? It wasnt racist at all. How the heck did u conceive such a thing?

This is just all so crazy. Race this, Race that. I have seen horror movies with no white people, or Asians, or African Americans, or Native Americans etc. So what, as long as you can relate with the personality of a character, what does it matter. I don't just relate with a character cause they are the same race, I relate with them through their actions and situations. Racism isn't about having or not having a mix of cultures, it's about how stereotypical the characters are written because of their race.

shut up already! most re makes suck ass anyways the guy in charge of this probably cares nothing about the original and I wouldn't doubt it if he has ever seen it..... What I'm saying is there are going to be more things for us fans of the original to bitch about besides your nagging "racist issue" so SHUSH!

reply

I think it's also silly (the race thing in general), but I can see the OPs point at the same time. One of the few things the original NotD did was throw people for a loop by having the ONE black guy actually a) know what's going on, b) leave immediately, and c) live through the ending.

That was pretty much the ONE interesting thing about the ending for the original, and now it's being changed...weak sauce to the maximum...

THAT'S NOT RACISM!

Racism is one race doing something to put down a different race. By excluding black/Asian character is not putting down the race. it's not an exact remake. Get over it.

I agree! I hate it when people say "thats racist or thats racism!" over stupid little issues. I loved the characters in the original and wish this one had all the same people but it doesn't and that doesn't mean the guy in charge is also part of the KKK.... Like what if they re made this movie with all african americans and no white people? I wouldn't think it was racist and I would still watch it.

reply

I agree it's racism; just like it's racist that they replaced the white star of the original The Karate Kid with a black kid, and that movie was much more popular and well known than this movie.

reply

LOL, the casting of the new Karate Kid is all about nepotism. Will Smith is one of the producers for the film & one of his kids just so happens to be the star of the film.

Hmm... methinks that someone pulled a few strings to get his kid into show business.

Jill Terashita played Frannie (didn't do much after this or Sleepaway Camp 3)

And I was hoping to see Roger,Frannie and Stooge characters back into this. But no,you don't get what you want when it comes to remakes. You can't have a cheesy horror movie, without the party animal dickhead character like Stooge.
