In case anyone hasn't noticed yet, or is too young to remember it, the Waffle-Bot is clearly a homage to Johnny Five in the Short Circuit movies, especially Short Circuit 2 where its/his friendship with the Indian guy is similar to Waffle-Bot's friendship with Kumar in this movie.

That's a bit of a stretch...I love Johnny number 5 as much as the next 80s kid, but I don't see it...
