I agree! This is absolutely painful to watch. It's such a cheesy, overblown, lackluster knock off of the original.

I usually don't "rant" but, in this case, I just had too because Rocky Horror is very near and dear to my heart, as I'm quite sure it is to most people on this board.

I'm catching this while Legends of Tomorrow is on commercial and I couldn't stomach more than 10 minutes. It is just AWFUL and FOX seriously royally effed this up. It lacks any enthusiasm, the music and singers are weak, and they EFFING CHANGED FRANK'S COSTUME! That look is iconic and they just did away with it completely. Also, as much as I love Laverne, why would they cast her in the lead role? Frank is a transvestite not transgendered and I don't think FOX even knows the difference between the two. The cast doesn't feel authentic and really looks more like a college theatrical put-on than anything with big production. Tim Curry as the narrator doesn't even reel me in. None of them capture the personality and essence of the original characters and it just feels bland. I think FOX focused too much on the "modernity" of it than staying true to the original, which they should've thought about considering the massive fan-base this movie has. Or they really just didn't give a *beep* which is FOX's attitude about most things.

It's just an amateurish mess and really painful to watch if you're a fan. I know it's a "tribute" and not a remake, but it's one piss poor tribute. I'm going oto have to cleanse myself and watch the DVD now.
