Big Theory

Just hear me out Wicked is based on racism I know it sound harsh but the movie is about a girl who is green and everyone treats her different because of her skin color and because of her powers but mostly because of her skin. Her father thinks she a disappointment and a curse when Elphaba makes it to Shiz everyone is scared of her and makes fun of her because of her skin color. Glinda is not her really friend because Glinda didn't want anyone to know she was hang out with Elphaba because she didn't want to be called weird or a freak. Lastly the original actor of Elphaba is Stephanie J. Block a white lady but in Wicked (2024) its played by Cythia Erivo a black lady who also played Harriet Tubman. But it all connects the wanted Cythia Erivo to play Elphaba because it shows the struggles of black people but she just green.

Keep in mind that the original writer of the book is a gay dude, and the story might actually be a gay code story instead. While the gay community often can empathize with the black community when it comes to being ostracized, they're ostracized for different reasons.

What surprises me is the fact that he didn't cross a line and have Elphaba and Glinda get together, but he did write the book in the 90s, when being gay was seen as extremely uncool, so I guess he wanted the book to be a success, and it most certainly was among his peers in the gay community.

It wasn't easy being green for Kermit the Frog either.

I would think if Kermit was having issues with being green he would have sung about it.

You are having a point there
