It's gratifying to see the reaction to Erivo's comments are almost universally negative. I've hardly done an exhaustive search, but I have yet to see one agreeing with and supporting her. It's been been a collective eyeroll, which gives me hope that perhaps, just perhaps we are finally beginning to see a light at the end of the woke tunnel, that the trend of making victimhood the new sainthood is just possibly finally coming to an end. It was inevitable that that tendency to sanctify victimhood, equate victimhood with righteousness and virtue would lead people to try to win virtue by portraying themselves as victims, and everyeone can see that is just what Erivo is doing here.
And their patience for such antics is finally wearing thin.
I think if this exact incident had happened two, three years ago, there would have been more people expressing support for Erivo, but they're not now. I really do hope this means we are finally starting to turn the corner on this nonsense. It's way past time.
She is objectively rather ugly.
My bet is that she isn't bright and probably never saw/noticed the poster. So, her reaction translates to "They are hiding my face because I'm ugly" when in fact the person who made that image doesn't think she is.
It's darkly amusing.
I miss Margaret Hamilton.
