Even more, the elevators where yet another nod to Cube... so many tips of the cap. Loved it.

*sigh* Where to begin. If you even watched the movie you'd have seen that there are literally 100's of horror references, some direct "ripoffs" to use your line. Just off the top of my head:

Nosferatu/Vampire-A million vampire movies
Cenobites-Hellraiser franchise
Deadites/Angry Molesting Tree-Evil Dead franchise
Werewolf-Million werewolf movies
Wraith-13 Ghosts
Dolls-The Strangers
Re-Animated-Movie of the same name
Mummy-Million mummy movies
Giant Animals/Insects-Food of the Gods and countless other movies like Eight Legged Freaks
Kevin-Psycho is a close example
Zombies-No explanation needed here
The Buckners-Texas Chainsaw Massacre
The Spirit(Japanese ghost)-The Ring

To name a few. I think maybe you need to go back and rewatch the movie and listen to what the people working the studio say.

Someone needs to learn the differnce between a ripoff and a homage. In tnis case, the entire movie was a homage to other movies includin Hellraiser.
