WTF! This is a COMEDY film, not a single bit of horror in it

they sell this to me as a HORROR film, no matter how many excuses of clever twist you wanna throw at this, this is a comedic movie! not a single time in the whole movie was i scared
how can i be? everything is extremely telegraphed for laughs and so we can say "ohhh yeah dumb horror movies are like this hahaha so clever"
this is in the same league as scary movie, i really think this needs a re-clasification
one of the worst movies i've seen, even a bad horror movie (the ones that this mocks) is more honest, they try to scare you with an attempt at horror and fail but this is not that, this is outright comedy

TERRIBLE MOVIE

...How many movies have you seen?? Because if THIS is the worst, you must have seen like, two dozen maybe? Max??

Worst movie you've ever seen...God, what a tool.

Actually it was sold to you as a deconstruction/satire of the horror genre. Hundreds (maybe thousands) of horror films include some comedy. The two do work well together after all.

As for the "no horror", I'd find being drugged, manipulated and led to a place to be sacrificed as pretty horrific of a concept. Then you factor in a collection of monsters and a huge bloodbath. Oh and the world being ended by angry Gods. Sounds like all sunshine & peppermints, right?

I've been watching horror films since I was kid but I could only name a handful that truly scared me. In fact some of my favourite horror films are comedies; Re-Animator, Return of the Living Dead, Night of the Creeps etc. For me this was like the 80s film Waxwork, as in it was just an excuse to get as many monsters on the screen as possible and I'm down with that! (I usually can't stand modern horror as well.)

It's almost like the horror/slasher version of House of Frankenstein or Destroy All Monsters.

Can't stop the signal.

marketing this as a standard horror film was one of the most brilliant things the producers couldve done. it made it hit all the more home.

Was sold as a comedy to me. I mean, I knew it was a comedy going in. Because..it looked like a comedy, it looked like satire.

"I'm a massive, massive idiot. Everything goes over my head. I also don't know how to capitalize."

Made you look!

Ok so let's say they reclassify it as a comedy. People keep saying that on here. What exactly would that change for the movie or anyone??

You are a victim of the great SUPPOSED! I could have watched it and enjoyed it, but it was supposed to be something else!

Supposed is a tough problem with all movies. But I think that comedy and horror have it the worst because people treat these genres like drugs, they like to use them to try to feel a certain way. So if you thought you were taking a horror-pill and were accidentally slipped a comedy-pill, you don't feel right.

It's not how I watch movies. I prefer to pick something based on a really vague idea of what it might be, and try to not guess what it will be like. Then I watch it, and make up my own mind about what it was and what I thought of it.
