Let me guess - they are all positive ))) Because its a movie about slaves, no one can call it bad. For black actors being in slaves movie basically became what playing mentally ill people for white actors is. Oscar bait. You want awards and nominations? Just play black slave or white mentally ill person. Or put on fat suit. Or get extremely thin. That will make you "good actor" immediately.

I thought Hollywood was done with it as it became too ridiculous. But nope. This year we have Brandon Fraser in fat suit who suddenly became "good actor" when putting one and they are ready to nominate him for awards for it ))))

Hilarious. That why no one takes those awards serious for years now.

Activists in the African-American Community need to constantly push the narrative that they are the world's ultimate victims. And constantly talk about slavery and all the "horrible" things that have happened to them. Even though most blacks in middle-class neighborhoods have their Lexus's, Maserati's, etc. Pretty good deal being the "endless victims of racism."

It has a 49 % rating on rotten tomatoes, so several negative and mixed reviews. So your guess is wrong.

So I finally watched trailer. And OMG its so cringe and bad. This epic music does not reflect what is happening. Its just looks like a Lifetime and CW level of movie that they put epic music on try to pretend that its some mega movie.

Will Smith looks ridiculous with his overacting and fake accent. Im actually outraged that real slaves were not hired to play slaves. Because some Hollywood rich snobs cant play them well enough as they are too far up in their private planes and big houses to understand what its like to be poor or slave. At least they could have hired some poor real black people from Africa. With the authentic accent.

Will Smith have been mega rich for 30 years now. He doesnt know what poor people feel. And he is bad actor. He was so miscast in this role. Gosh I now hope that that Elvis guy, Brandon Fraser in fat suit and 3 more actors would swap away those nominations so that Will Smith would be ignored for this ridiculous cringe movie.

Smith won't be getting ANY nominations for this. He's been suspended from the Academy for 10 years, therefore he's ineligible to receive or participate in any Academy activities including the Oscars.

reply

But not ineligible to be nominated (or win). And I bet all those dumb fucks who gave him a standing ovation after assaulting someone who are members of the academy will vote to nominate him. And I'm pretty sure the votes are anonymous so they won't have to worry about being canceled for nominating him.

reply

I believe he is ineligible for a nomination. You have to be a member of the Academy in good standing to receive a nomination. That’s one of reasons a lot of performers don’t get nominated. For example, R Lee Ermey didn’t get nominated for Full Metal Jacket because he was never a member.

reply

He is 100% eligible to receive a nomination and win. The Academy's "punishment" of Will Smith was just for show. There was no real punishment. All his punishment entails is that he can no longer vote for who gets nominated or vote for who wins and he can no longer attend the ceremonies. Period. Google it if you don't believe me. There's a million and one stories about it in great detail.

Ever since the "Oscars So White" crap started, the Academy has pretty much handed the organization over to the black community. So, of course, violence would follow.

Shots fired. xD
