shareNot very surprised. I've said this before, Warner Brothers gave Snyder the green light to develop this cut is just to increase more HBO Max subscribers. They don't necessarily care about the quality of the film but are aware of the anticipation.
shareWhile I don't see this happening, I would be amused if this does better critically than the Whedon cut.
shareI predict it will be WORSE than the Whedon cut. Remember, Whedon was brought in last minute to try and salvage Snyder's rushed crapfest after the Razzie-award winning Batfleck v. Pseudoman bombed.
shareWGTC! Fake News.
Only two weeks. Wonder if there'll be critic previews?
They thought it was really square. (Get it? The movie is in 4:3 aspect ratio.)
shareYou mean the proper aspect ratio designed to maximize visual area since its based on humasn actual vision? Remmeber that the widescrene format was invented exclusively because hollywood wanted to be special snowflakes and "look different than tv".
share"Humasn" actual vision? Is that like human actual vision, or actual human vision?
If it is, human vision is VERY wide. So, the square format is more like tunnel vision.
I get it. Snyder likes the full-screen IMAX image. I do too, when it is IN an actual full-screen IMAX theater. On TV, it seems unusual. But, Snyder shot the thing in full-screen IMAX and is releasing it that way. Which is fine. It's his choice.
Human vision is not very wide. The peripheral vision only registers motion, it is useless for watching a screen. NASA did extensive research on this when designing the austronaut helmet visors. The human vision is a cone most closely approximated as 4:3.
sharethis means it may actually be good. may not be for the masses. on a side note: based on the trailers, I have low expectations.
shareAnd that surprises you?
shareWB execs couldnt tell a finger from an ass so that is only a good thing.
