Where are our allies?

The one thing that also make this film look so terrible is the fact there is no mention whatsoever of our allies. Are they taking a nap or something like that?

-first the film totally ignores the ROK and Japan, which the DPRK would have to jump over first before even thinking of going overseas.

-second, Europe and our NATO allies seemingly do nothing to stop the Russians, who somehow managed to cross the Atlantic unscathed and take the Eastern coast.

another thing i would like to ask is why would Russia want to fully ally themselves with the DPRK, which would damage their standing in the international community? Russia, like the US and China, is loosing its patience with the DPRK, which was exhibited with them agreeing to the UN sanctions on the DPRK.

Interesting to see how our American cousins seem to think we're a bunch of helpless damsels in distress over here.

Let's see. 3 to 4 million men army. In the case of North Korea on the technical standard of the early 60s. Well, million men army with a few flying relics, meet around 2000 4th and 5th generation jet fighters. Hello Russian navy mostly inherited from the Soviet Union, meet around 550 modern warships. They would never reach Berlin. The fight would devastate Poland but there is no chance in hell that such a hypothetical army could reach German ground.

Europe is conceived as weak because people tend to view each country separately. But in a case as presented in this incredibly stupid movie, they would pool their *beep* together in no time. Throw in the Swiss and the only thing that could be a danger on the home soil would be the US military. It's also considered weak because we don't waltz around invading random countries (yet). There is a reason why European militaries shy away from creating great heavy lifting capabilities - there is no political will to play global policeman. That's a good thing in my opinion.

Anyway, concerning the OP. An invasion of the US, implausible as it is, would first and foremost kill the economic system dead. See what the breaking down of one bank did. Imagine what happened if they all went dark over night. No more imports, no more exports and all the dollar reserves in the world, suddenly worthless. We are looking at more turmoil than any military action would cause. As such, there would be a few weeks of complete chaos while things reorganize themselves. But then, we'd come. Probably together with the Canadians, Mexicans and the ANZAC. It wouldn't even be a selfless act of allied fidelity but simple self defense. No US - no Europe. No Europe - no US. For all our differences, the west is so intertwined these days we'd have to stand together no matter what.

The original script had China invading and not North Korea. It had to be changed at the last minute

That's because it didn't affect THEM. If Russia tried invading oh, let's say Germany, let's just say 'it would get real, real fast.

Russia is Ukraine, Ukraine is Russia.

Russia would just have to go through Alaska.

Relax and enjoy the film.

They're all hiding from the inevitable friendly fire attacks that would happen if they decided to try and help out ;-)

I guess Trump alienated all your allies.
