Worst adaptation I've ever seen!
Pure crap.
shareI agree ,OP.Michael's passionate and intense performance was only redeemable thing about that crapfest !
shareI'm sorry to say I agree...
Completely disappointed (even though I didn't have such high hopes)...
Interaction&communication like cavemen(&women), authenticity none, it was fake &flat&empty&annoying.
Nice images though! Beautiful shots, and costumes... (Some of her dresses even looked worn!)
As a movie however...
To me, it was even funny sometimes, but generally just eye-rolling.
But then I have unpopular tastes in JE adaptations.
I've read the book 5 times and seen numerous adaptations and I enjoyed this one the most. It's also the most true to the book. ******spoiler *****
This is the only adaptation I've seen that show her almost starve to death and where The Rivers are her cousins.

My apologies. I still think it was a truer adaptation than any of the other movies. I thought it was excellent.
shareEven though Mia and Michael did a very nice job, this is not my favorite version of JANE EYRE either.
My favorite version was the Franco Zeffirelli version from 1996 with William Hurt, Charlotte Gainsbourg,& Anna Paquin, etc.
