This is not Mission Impossible. This is a Disney cartoon.

Wow I knew the director came from Pixar but did not expect him to make this literally like a cartoon. If not for some explicit death scenes this could totally be mistaken for a Disney spy flick. Even the actors acts like cartoon characters with their exaggerated facial expressions and numerous befuddled looks. This film shouldn't even be called mission impossible. Very disrespectful to other films in the franchise.

Ok, I don't know who Brad Bird is, and I've probably only ever watched one or two Pixar films. But this MI: Ghost Protocol was really shtty.

The tone is all over the place. One second it's trying to be serious. Next second it's slapstick comedy.

It just plain sucks, just like its fans

I gave up after about 40 minutes, too childish, stupid gadgets, unfunny jokes, fluttery disney music, not what I want to watch.

For me it was half that the tone felt oddly light and breezy and the other half was the action was shot and edited in a way that lacked energy.

reply

Because the last films weren't? Last I remember there was flying doves, guns with high bounce properties, a computer tech that looked like Jon Koffee, and a woman learning how to shoot in under 5 minutes, in which she gets headshots regardless.

It's a phuucking cartoon.

One gay beer for my friend here, because he's gay, and one normal beer for me, since I'm normal.

Well, that MIGHT be overstating it somewhat... BUT... I do see PRECISELY why you said that. I too felt that this was by FAR the weakest, flattest, LEAST-involving, LEAST-intense of all the MI films.

I now have over 7000 films; many of them very rare and OOP. I LOVE to trade. PLEASE ASK! 

THANK YOU. The whole thing felt like an unending punchline.

Totally agree
