Horrid Performance By the 'Actress' (director's wife)

It's a shame. Kevin Gage was really good in this and the gore effects were insanely well done and original.

What do you expect, she is MARRIED to the director....Great to look at but damn she was horrible!

reply

Yes. I really wanted to enjoy this movie but the lead actress got on my damn nerves! The gore was very good as well as the main villian. He was something new and fresh ( I like the shoulder camera idea) but the actress screaming through out was horrid.

Despite the bad acting from Luther, I thought that the majority of the supporting cast was great and created one of the best assemblies of characters I've seen in a horror film in a while. Kevin Gage, Sean Whalen and Lena Headley all did well and I actually CARED about all of them- a rare thing in a slasher! I would wholeheartedly recommend this film to anyone who is interested in it!

You people obviously dont get it!

How would you sound trying to communicate if you had a friggin baseball bat to the HEAD?!

Its not bad acting or dialouge...It was a risky move by the fimmakers that paid off in my opionon as the girl does not drift off into bad heroine mode like every other POS american horror filM!

reply

If I had a friggin baseball bat to the HEAD, I would hope my husband was the director and then it wouldn't matter how I communicated.

"FACE IT FOLKS, AMERICAN HORROR IS DEAD!!!!! "

Never!! There are still great american made horror films released each year, you just have to sift through alot of crap to find them....and thats not limited to American made, foreign horror is the same way!

I can agree that most of the theatrically released US horror is crap

reply

I can't believe you are defending her acting. You must know her or wish you did or maybe you are her. Ha ha.

the fatal flaw in Rob...I mean Evil-Live's "theory" that she was acting badly on purpose because it was supposed to portray the damage from the blow to the head is that she acts just as badly in the scenes they show of her on the tape that shows her BEFORE she gets hit in the head...

reply

it's a horror flick, acting is not a necessity. big boobs are. i'm convinced it was the only reason she was cast.

WOW you are sooooowrong! You definitely have to watch more horror films! Specially foreing ones and you 'll see horror is not about that.

reply

I was using a bit of sarcasm there. Most of my favorite horror movies contain little-to-no nudity.

reply

she was hit in the head with a bat. of course she acted very stupid thru out the movie

reply

What about the other characters? Were they all hit in the head with bats as well? If not, why were they listening to the only one, one who couldn't figure out simple words and concepts, who had been?

reply

maybe Tucker and Steven being sympathetic was what made them listen to the girl. Tommy at least seemed to be thinking

Rob Zombie is one of the greatest directors today

reply

Yep, nepotism strikes again. She's married to the director, and she produced the movie, so it'd be kind of hard to keep her out... unfortunately.

Ah well, it's not like it was a masterpiece otherwise or anything. At least the gore was good.

reply

the gore was the only redeeming quality of the movie, at least i thought so.
