Wish this movie didn't get as much hate.

I still think it's a great movie. I hate that this movie gets trashed so much. I bet people don't even hate it so much they just hopped on the "Hate Iron Man 2 bandwagon", because someone probably once made a few "good" points on the "flaws" of this movie.

The whole 2 and a half hour Avengers commercial argument is dumb, because it takes maybe 20 minutes total of the movie merely referencing the Avengers. The rest is all Iron Man. Who didn't love the Mark V suit. The whole pallatium poisoning belonged because it is a problem Iron Man would have that Tony, being Tony, figured out how to solve.

In some ways I liked It more than IM1. It still drives me crazy that the final battle of IM1 Tony had the power shortage, and couldn't be at full potential, as he was fighting the Hammer Drones.

Basically, my point is, come up with your own opinion. Don't hate just because you see other's hate on it. It's a snowball effect, and you'll let in ruin the awesome movie this is.

It's not hated, it's just a disappointment, especially compared to Iron Man 1. It's a decent movie, but it feels more like a long winded prelude for The Avengers rather than a proper Iron Man movie.

Vanko wasn't a great villain. He was ok but he was a big come down from Obidiah Stane. Justin Hammer was nothing but comedy relief, even if he did back Vanko, he was comedy all the way. I love Paltrow as Pepper, but she was too crabby with Tony in this one. It seemed she was sniping at him in almost every scene, even if he did deserve it because of his drunken behavior, it put a damper on their scenes.

The biggest plus in Iron Man 2 is the recasting of Rhodey. Don Cheadle is a much better actor than Terence Howard.

I love both of the two first movies (the third is much inferior), and I have no idea what so many people have against Iron Man 2, either. Great story, great action. Lots of stuff happening. I rate both of the two first Iron Man movies a 10 out of 10. Perfect comic book movies (and I'm a comic collector). Iron Man 3 rates a 7 or 8 at most.

I enjoyed this one more than the first. More characters, more humour, more action, good story about Tony trying to find a cure for himself.

I liked both films, but prefer Iron Man 2 over Iron Man.

So there.

At least it's better than 3.

You know what, I didn't care for Iron Man 2, but I won't call it a piece of trash, or any other exaggeration. People have a habit of doing that with movies they don't care for. A good portion of films aren't as bad as people make them out to be.

I've basically learned to translate what people really mean when talking about movies and performances.

IT's a piece of crap! Worst Film ever!! = I didn't like it.

Man, that movie was amazing, the best thing I've ever seen =
I liked it.

Most of the dudes that I've talked to will swear by this trilogy. I just watched them all recently, but found them to be a blast myself.

hate is a strong word, there isn't anything in the movie that betrays the characters or a weird off the wall story line, it's more that the movie is completely under developed. It comes across as a roundtable brain storming session rather than a truly refined script.

There's a lot of good ideas, from Whiplash, Justin Hammer, to the US government wanting Tony's technology, it's just that none of these ideas really come together and the movie sort of goes off the rails after the Monte Carlo fight. Whiplash drops out for the middle of the movie and it seems like we changed the channel and are watching a different version of Iron Man 2 with Shield taking a larger part.

The acting is good, special vfx are good, it's just that the pieces don't create a strong coherent whole.

I go by what RDJ said about the film, that parts of it were dissatisfying and disappointing, but the film itself stands up ok. I guess what he means is that if they were to do it again (yes, not possible) they'd do things a little differently.

I don't mind IM2 so much, it's very watchable, and I also think it's a bit unfair to say it's a glorified trailer for The Avengers.
