Didn't like Scarlett Johansson in this movie

Now this my opinion so don't freak out all you SJ fans, I just don't think she really fit in this movie. Number one she's just not as good of an action star as they try to make her out to be, in this film and a couple others. Her stunts are so obviously not her, til they cut in close after the jump or kick is already done and she's practically standing still again. Now I realize stunt players are always used in action films, but alot of action stars do enough of their own stunts to at least make it look believable (like Angelina Jolie). Secondly, her character didn't really fit in the story. She had a small and mostly unimportant role for most of the movie, then all of a sudden at the end she becomes key and saves the day. And Gwenyth Paltrow already fills the role of the important strong woman behind the man, and even though she was promoted to a higher duty, there just didn't seem to be a need for an another woman in his life.

Oh, please. This is even more ludicrous than your claim that Paltrow is "strong".

Yeah lets complain about the best part of the movie. Good thread OP!!!

Gwenyth complains throughout most of the movie and doesn't do much else, so strong woman? I think not. Sure Scarlett's character wasn't needed in this movie as much as she was in all the others she's in, but it was a nice introduction to a character that became pretty important in the MCU. As for the fight stunts, well considering many have a hard enough time suspending their belief, I know Scarlett looked more convincing as a deadly fighter than a gaunt looking Angelina Jolie did in Wanted and Salt.

You want something corny? You got it!

Agree

She was put in there to please the feminist.

I didn't like Paltrow too much either. Thought she was whiny

So a character which had been around at that time for 46 years and is well associated with The Avengers was put in there just to please the feminists?

Actually, this was the only movie I liked her in because other than the beginning of The Avengers and when she chats with Loki, this is the only time she's a spy.

And, it is the only time she actually looks good.

I'm also not a fan of Paltrow, but I liked her as Pepper. I think the interactions she had with RDJ were great. They had all the feel of a couple of friends who cared deeply for each other and trusted each other completely.
