I don't care what the TV shows are about, they can explore anything. The movies should be an event

In the expanded Star Wars universe - yes poorly handled. I think the TV shows should explore any topic they want. If they have lesbian space witches, gay lovers anything goes. This is a diverse galaxy of make believe - who cares, not even the stars or creators, why should we.

Just sit back, relax and let this incompetent group try and entertain you. If it's currently terrible (it is) then wait. I a broken clock is eventually right. The TV shows are kinda a proving ground - they throw spaghetti on wall and see what sticks.

The movies should be an event that we all want to see. Unfortunately it is not Mandalorian, or anything we seen yet.

The problem is everything has to be connected. The tv shows won't just be the tv shows. They'll be required viewing for the movies because the MCU broke cinema. Whatever movies they're cooking up right now will be rooted in this silly show right here. It's all about getting an entire new generation of people addicted to their streaming service and conditioning them that they can't live without it.

you of course are right. but look at the Holiday Special, or Ewok movies. The attempt to expand the universe was also shortsighted and laughable and we did not take seriously before the larger story of the movies.

The movies are not compelling, nor are the shows. Think of the shows as a petri dish. Poorly made fan films.
