Dumb

The only good thing about this film was Adam Driver. I thought he did really well.
The beginning was visually stunning. However, as the film dragged on, the CGI became terrible. Too many dinosaurs. Sometimes less is more.

SPOILERS

Using an old trope of 65 million years ago, dinosaurs were wiped out by asteroids, also did not help. The plot summary did not give that away.

Most ridiculous thing was the little girl high jumping and putting a stake in the big dinosaurs eye. Not sure if it was a T-Rex, could've been.

Forgettable film, really.

reply

When promoting this film in Europe Driver proclaimed "I love when a whole family can watch something in the theatre, the scale, the sets, the magnitude of this production blew me away. Im very proud of this movie, go see it, I was at the edge of my seat, see it, my best...." before turning to another reporter.

reply

Hes right , this is an excellent family movie

reply

I thought the scene where the little girl stab the T-Rex’s eye was awful too. How did she catch up to them so quickly? Adam Driver had ran quite a bit from the ship. How did the T-Rex not see or sense her coming up from its side? How was she strong enough to stab it’s eye in the first place?

reply

Adam Driver had ran quite a bit from the ship.

Which brings up another question: how did he outrun the dinosaur and get to the hot springs before it?

reply

Dinosaurs are too big. Of course a man, who is a fraction of their size, will outrun the dinosaur

reply

You are forgetting that he was in heels too................wait that was another film

reply

No one can say for sure if it were an asteroid that wiped out the dinosaurs. Primitive mankind figured out to make weapons and possibly could have hunted the dinosaurs to extinction instead

reply

Except that dinosaurs were looooonnggg gone by the time mankind was around.

reply

Maybe or maybe not.

reply

No maybe about it.

reply

I've seen plenty of movies with primitive cavemen battling all kinds of dinosaurs. No way to prove it today though

reply

The Flintstones isn't based off of reality my friend.

After the dinosaurs died out, nearly 65 million years passed before people appeared on Earth, that's why the movie is named 65. Their reign concluded at the end of the Cretaceous Period. Do you know how we determine periods of time? There are layers of Earth on our planet and human fossils are never found in the Cretaceous Period, that's how we can know. There has never ever been fossils of humans in the same layer of Earth as the ginormous lizards.

reply

Is it possible that no human fossils were found in the Cretaceous Period is because it was the humans who killed off the dinosaurs and not the other way around?

reply

It is possible that you are not human.

reply

Only humans can communicate on this site

reply

Only robots can lie

reply

What model robot are you?

reply

So no humans died in the cretaceous period? The Cretaceous Period lasted from 145.0 million years ago and ended 66 million years ago, so 79 million years and not one human fossil found in that time period?

reply

Thats a good point

reply

It wasn't just dumb. It was straight up stupid. Avoid at all cost (even when free)!

reply

Why? It is perhaps the best if not one of the best Beck/Woods Dinosaur movies of 2023 starring Adam Driver!

reply

I thought the acting in general was good. The story is kind of ridiculous, but that's all right. It was worth a watch. I'd give it a 6/10.

reply

It is based on true events (Dinosaurs DID die)

reply

It was pretty bad. Should have been called Before Earth aka After Earth 2.
