And so far they don’t focus on the supernatural part but on how fucked, mean and plain evil humans can be.

shareMade me think of our world and Q'Anon. Someone starts a movement for shits and giggles and it just takes off. Although I will say the people in Hellbound had a right to be fooled. I mean Jesus, these monsters come out the ground and beat you to death. LOL! Of course, you'll believe. In reality, such as the Q thing, it took much less to convince.
shareQ is nothing.
Think about nazis and communists, read about Mao's "cultural revolution" and the atrocities that happened - just like the Arrowhead in this show. Think about all the religious extremists in our history, witch hunting and all the stupid shit we have done.
But yeah, at least they saw something supernatural in this show to put them on the high moral heels. But that only shows how limited we are and how willing to twist everything we see in a light that we want to see - like how easy it was to convince that idiot that he is the Messiah and how the new truth was manipulating the ... truth - again you can think nazis, communists, fox news, msnbc, cnn, etc - I'm excluding Qanon because so few take that shit seriously.
They would really shock people if they showed how evil American leftists are!
shareConsider where this show comes from. The telling moment for me was when they moved ahead 4 years, and you see that mural with the original chairman (at the New Hope HQ). It looks exactly like something from North Korea, as is the way they go after the innocent family of 'sinners'. It's all about how society turns on itself, the corruption of power, and how willing the populace is to fall in line.
shareYup.
shareYou’re so right! Maybe, they’ll be a season 2 to explain the supernatural aspect as to where the monsters derived. Were they summoned?
