I find it hilarious how so many of you guys laugh at the notion of extraterrestrial life from outer space. Yet you believe in fairy tail religions.
Lets see...
First of all, the bible sounds like it was written by a 5th grader, and encourages, slavery, rape, incest, mass-murder, witchcraft, sorcery, and primitive rituals. Its all fear based. Praise me, make me a priority and except me or else!! There is NO historical record that Jesus even existed. (except this prehistoric collection of myths and fables) Some of the brightest minds (Albert Einstein for one) were atheist or agnostic. Christians will say it "is not in His will". Why not? Is the 3 year old child being molested and raped in a basement in New York City right now "in His will?". Do you believe you are blessed because you got a new car, yet millions will die from hunger today? Give me a break. Grow up. Religion is the cause of 97% of the world's ills right now. It is meant to control and divide the weak minded.
Earth is NOT 6,000 years old. This is not rocket science here.
It is 100% more likely that other life forms exist in plants/galaxies far away from us then some deity creator.
To me religious people are either weak minded or completely unaware.
Wait till you read some of the responses from these people. They will talk their smack but at no point will they post anything credible which proves anything they believe in.
I will respond to their responses with one simple FACT...
I agree that extraterrestial life is a fairy tale. Regarding the rest of your post on the Bible you should read the book "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel. Lee Strobel was the reporter who broke the story on the Ford Pinto in the 1970's - where in rear end collisions, the Pinto would blow up and burn the occupant's in the vehicle alive. At the time, Ford decided it would be cheaper to pay the lawsuits instead of recalling the Pinto and fixing the gas tanks. Anyway Lee Strobel is the reporter who uncovered that story. An avowed atheist, he went nuts when his wife became a Jesus Freak so he set out to systematically, disprove the Bible. Pretty interesting what he found out. You should check it out. It really is fascinating.
Bible Thumpers claim the Bible has never been proven wrong, historically, scientifically, archeologically, prophetically, etc. Supposedly it tells of a group of people called the Jews and how God would use these people to save and/or judge the human race. They claim the Bible is the only book that is 1/3 prophecy and has never been wrong. They claim in the middle ages, the black plague was stopped when the catholic church went and read the rules on handling the dead written in Leviticus. Yet germs weren't even discovered until the 1800's, etc. How cold the Bible know this, etc.
Bible Thumpers also claim that in (Isaiah 66:7-8)_ - it was prophesied that in the last days - the nation of Israel would be reborn in one day and that this happened on May 14th, 1948. And they also claim this was the time Satan knew his "days were numbered" so Satan's spirit "of the air" began to decieve people through Science Fiction books and movies and that the "great delusion" of 2nd Thessalonians 2:11 as being about UFO's and that Aliens and not Christ will have "raptured" the "true believers" and this is why the book of Revelaton in the Bible sounds like a George Lucas film.
They say were all sinners and blind and the only way to understand all this is to accept Christ's sacrifice for our sins, repent, and recieve his holy spirit and then the "truth will set us free" through his "god-breathed" word = the Bible. These Jesus Freaks believe that belief in evolution is like believing a car could be created in an explosion in an automobile factury and that there is no way complex bodily systems like our eyes and optical nerves and brains could have evolved - so we must have been created. Some science fiction claims were were created by Aliens. But who created them? Some believe we were created by God and that the Aliens are fallen angels/demons who are out to decieve us in the last days and all who are "decieved" into accepting all this when the anti-christ wants to stamp our hands and foreheads with "666" - will burn in hell.
Who to believe? George Lucas? Charles Darwin? Or a guy who was supposedly born in a manger, claimed to be God's son, raised people from the dead, rose from the dead himself, caused 12 fishermen and my others since to die marytr's deaths - and now - all time and history is measured by His birth and death?
None that have been found yet. Statistically speaking the odds that we are the ONLY planet with life is impossible. Its just a matter of technology and time before we find one another.
first off all i will correct you on your first incorrect statement. the bible in no way encourages, slavery, rape, incest, mass-murder, witchcraft, sorcery, and primitive rituals, infact it says that all of those are forbidden. according to historian Yoseph Ben Mattithyahu also known as Titus Flavius Josephus there was in fact a man named jesus in fact there where many men named jesus the actual hebrew term for jesus is yeshuah. but only one of those men names jesus. claimed to be the son of god. and was seen doing miracles and was crucified and after 3 days his body was missing from its resting place. and as for albert einstien. he was not an atheist. infact he said science with out religion is ignorant and religion with out science was blind. he beleived that the universe was created someone or something. and no where in the bible does it say the earth is only 6000 years old. and as for life on other planets many of the brightest scienctists on earth have stated that earth is the only planet in the universe that can support life and that other planets and galaxies can not support life
and for your theory of evolution statement. evolution is not a fact and never was. evolution goes against the laws of thermodynamics especially the second law of thermodynamics. and many scientists have stated that evolution is not based on fact but faith. and many evolutionists have said the same thing and have said that it takes more faigh to believe in evolution then it does in a personal creator or a god
"evolution goes against the laws of thermodynamics especially the second law of thermodynamics. and many scientists have stated that evolution is not based on fact but faith. and many evolutionists have said the same thing and have said that it takes more faigh to believe in evolution then it does in a personal creator or a god"
While agree that the theory of evolution is not fact (hence the term "THEORY) I fail to see what Physics regarding the conservation of energy have to do with evolution, it has no connection...
While I don't think to highly of religious wackjobs I actually think the OP is retarded or at least below average in the IQ-department, I also doubt he has any understanding of the theory of evolution.
Light travels faster than sound, that's why people seem bright, until you hear them.
a lot of people who want to deny evolution claim that laws of thermodynamics or entropy would preclude it from happening because sytems go from more organized to less organized without outside energy being put into the system. However that situation doesn't apply to evolution , because if you look up during the day you will notice a big yellow orange ball of fire in the sky. this is putting energy into the system daily so life can be getting more and more organized and complex without breaking the laws of thermodynamics or entropy.
Man...finally..someone with the voice of reason..evolutionists have never explained how inanimate matter came together and actually became a live one celled creature or algae or whatever they "believe" and that experiment with that one scientist with the electricity and that lab tube or whatever only produced proteins that are found amongst life, but did not, in any way, produce anything near a living creature or virus or bacterium. Also, later on in "evolution" which evolutionists mostly like to talk about becuz the beginning is harder to explain for them, an animal cannot decide to "change" itself slowly when pregnant just to plan for it's species to return to the sea, fly or become whales in 65 million years without something intelligent monitoring them all the time needed to change and somehow live with a half changed body..like dolphins with their blowhole slowly moving to the top of their head..please!...an animal cannot decide to reform itself slowly to not lay eggs anymore and have the pregnancy in the womb instead..I could on all day. It is simple if you think about it. You could shake a 10 piece puzzle in a box for 650 million years and it will NEVER put itself together..imagine the complex body of a one-celled creature? Evolution is the most ridiculous and most violent religion ever thought up..look at Hitler and also I have always heard also the Einstein absolutely believed in God.
QUOTE FROM EINSTEIN: He belived in a higher power. Not in the classical biblical God or a personal God, yes, but in looking for more research, I see that, as usual, even scientists are fighting over opinions of a real live outspoken amazng person like Einstein, and as usual, none of them agree.
1) "My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable superior Spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we are able to perceive with our frail and feeble minds. The deeply emotional conviction of the presence of a superior reasoning Power, which is revealed in the incomprehensible universe, forms my idea of God."
2.)"I can't answer with a simple yes or no. I'm not an atheist and I don't think I can call myself a pantheist. We are in the position of a little child entering a huge library filled with books in many different languages. The child knows someone must have written those books. It does not know how. The child dimly suspects a mysterious order in the arrangement of the books but doesn't know what it is. That, it seems to me, is the attitude of even the most intelligent human being toward God. We see a universe marvellously arranged and obeying certain laws, but only dimly understand these laws. Our limited minds cannot grasp the mysterious force that moves the constellations. I am fascinated by Spinoza's pantheism, but admire even more his contributions to modern thought because he is the first philosopher to deal with the soul and the body as one, not two separate things."
And the idea of even answering about Hitler going to church, probably true, but all here know that was and is another hypocritical thing about Hitler, not God...and the church he went to was...tada...what a surprise...the curse and joke of all religions, the Catholic Church, who encouraged killing the jews, etc, and all in Europe hung Swastika flags INSIDE THE CHURCH DURING SERVICES...they have nothing to do with believing in a higher power to me except for the almghty dollar and a little naked boy or two. Here is a link to Hitler going to yes, a Catholic "church", a video: Pic of Hitler leaving Catholic service and lots of other pics of Nazis attending church and shaking hands with priests:
And evolution, is it's own religion..have u ever noticed that when your "TV nature shows" run into a problem about "what or who" is directing, i.e., a kangaroo to develop a pouch and/or put one fetus on "hold" when food is scarce, they use "Mother nature saw to it" or "Evolution saw to it..etc etc"...who is Evolution? The kangaroo cannot plan the future for it's descendants born millions and millions of years from now..I could go on and on...it is a dumb animal who eats and mates and does not plan the future of it's offsprings' next mutations, which do not always have to do wth survival, n fact, rarely,...mostly the animals are fine the way they are...why did whales "decide" to go back to the sea??? Pwar har har...decided to have their mamnalian young born tail first and move their breath hole to the top of ther head..tell me, while this was going on for millenia, did they, at one time, have a "nose" on the side of their head...while it was gradually moving to the top thru "survival of the fittest mutations?" That is simply hilarious. Even if I didn't believe in a higher creator I would NEVER believe in the Evolution Religion either. U are pushy and obnoxious about pushng it down my throat. Like religions.
the bible in no way encourages, slavery, rape, incest, mass-murder, witchcraft, sorcery, and primitive rituals, infact it says that all of those are forbidden.
Sure it does. There is an entire section of god teaching soldiers to, and i quote, "wait in hiding by the side of the road and when a maiden you like comes along take her by force and make her your woman". God has ordered entire towns massacred, something that is a literal war crime so bad not even ISIS does it. No, bible does not encourage witchcraft, it in fact says that all perofrming it should be stoned to death.
Evolution is a fact that was proven by repeatable experiments.

I believe that someone must have made all this, whatever the first particle was to have started all this or whatever way u wanna look at it, I refuse to believe in the big bang theory. according to that stuff, atoms just decided to show up one day and the universe was made? naaa. someone must have taken a dump or something and thats how stuff got started, so i guess that makes me religious. I do not believe in the bible, too old and too many people have gotten their hands on it to tweek it for their own purpose. Science tells us that the universe is soooo big, assuming that is true then I do think there are other beings out there but I do not think they make random visits to butt ram people with needles here on earth. I am more of a show me type of person, with the exception that I think someone must have kick started this whole galaxy.

Your description of the Big Bang makes it pretty clear that you have no idea what the details of the theory are. Look them up, then make an educated statement, or remain silent. Posting ignorantly helps no one.
i believe in god and jesus, i love jesus but i wouldnt consider my self a religous type of person, id consider my self more of a spiritual type of person, i do believe that god created the heavens and the earth, and if aliens exist (assumeing they do because the universe is infinitely huge) does not necessary mean that god doesnt exist, if he created the universe and i think he did, maybe he created other civilizations? could be, i think so anyway. add me on facebook www.facebook.com/shane.nix
I do not care enough about this post to read all the replies. I do, however, want to point out that Albert Einstein was definitely not an atheist. He was a panentheist. It is sort of like pantheism though more comprehensive and referential to the various theories of quantum dynamics. It is actually pretty neat, look it up. You can start with reading up on Leibniz and Spinoza. (Because it is good to be educated about the various claims you seek to make. Unless of course you are simply out to hurt people, in which case...)
Not that I've read the bible, but I absolutely agree with ToExist. I won't go into too much detail about why I do, but I will say that the entire notion of god as a whole, was created to explain things we didn't understand. Back then we didn't have the technologies to find our answers, so we came up with god. There, it's so simple. Too simple that so many minds have fallen to the believe of the bearded man or woman in the clouds. If believing in god makes you happy then go for it, but I believe that religion has turned into brainwash. Now that we have evolved we have invented technologies to find our answers. You can even find answers in your own refrigerator, if you looked hard enough (or you don't keep it clean). In order to create life, you need H2O, O2, and an energy source. Our energy source is our sun. We breathe oxygen. 70% of the earth we inhabit is H2O. What are the odds that these three simple compounds haven't met and formed life on other worlds? There are billions of suns everywhere.
But I don't have anything against religious people, just religion itself.
A being that says you shall be punished and sent to hell if you don't worship him does not sound like a god but a tyrant. So what do you religious people say to that?
