Why didn't he pay back the loan shark, like, right away? "Oh look at me, I can access all my memories except for the one where I don't piss off the guy who has threatened to kill me."
I liked the movie and all, but that seemed odd.
"Weirdness was all he cared about. Weirdness and sex and plenty to drink."
I had thought he did pay him back right away, and Gennady said something like, "this isn't your style borrowing money from loan sharks. Not many people pay us back and very little pay back in full that quick. You could be useful to us."
Eddie sort of shrugged it off.
My real concern is that Eddie got greedy.it was going too slow. He could have waited another week or two, but instead Gennady owned him.
Like I said though, that scene isn't in the film although I was sure it was. So it might have been in an earlier script.
Yeah this was one of my biggest peeves, but I would rather have had the Russian in the movie than not, but that was such a huge oversight. I agree with the OP.
shareThe drug is pretty much based on adderal (/amphetamines), which has a tendency to make you focus only on certain things (nothing specific for everyone, it's whatever you feel like focusing on at that point....) so he's focusing on money and self-improvement, and neglecting everything else (I doubt he ate right or did any sport for example).
The drug did not make him *better* in every aspect of his life, so there's some drawback, like the one you mentioned.
