If he's so smart (slight spoilers)...

Why didn't he pay back the loan shark, like, right away? "Oh look at me, I can access all my memories except for the one where I don't piss off the guy who has threatened to kill me."
I liked the movie and all, but that seemed odd.

His main goal was to make massive money and the easiest way was through the Stock market.

Later on when he needed a better drug, he invented one without the bad side effects.

reply

The easiest way would have been through selling drugs, actually. lol

Although, the stock market is a safer bet from a legal standpoint. :)

you have good point

if the movie title is Limitless, he should have finishing all his problem before, but he is not, he is not God, he still have limit

reply

That would be true of there was such thing as god...

I don't love her.. She kicked me in the face!!

reply

yes! what could be more stupid than not paying off some scumbag mobster?

reply

He did, the guy kept coming after him for more pills.

reply

Only because he didn't pay the guy off right away. If he had it is unlikely the guy would have even known about the pills to keep coming after him. He only found out because he wasn't paid and went to rough Eddie up in order to remind him to pay his debt and a pill dropped in plain sight.

Excellent point.

You would think that an 8.5 million home in new york apartment would have cameras everywhere so i dont even get why the russian would be dumb enough to break into his home even though he also took the pills, also he gave the russian man some of his pills why didn't the loan shark just learn some chemistry make his own version, I mean he was smart as Eddie now.

reply

Well remember Eddie was extremely intelligent before taking the pills. The Russian mobster was definitely not a high IQ person. Remember Verne said it works better if you already smart (which Eddie was). I think the pill's ability wouldn't be as strong from the get go with the Russian guy.

reply

It clearly shows in the opening of the movie that the Russians have murdered the apartment's guards and all the monitors have some sort of interference. Eddie didn't pick an apartment with no securtiy, the "enhanced" russian mobster simply disabled it all.

I thought the Russian said Eddie missed their meeting at noon, and that's why he was there to rough him up, but Eddie had the 18-hour blackout and missed the meeting. This was Eddie's first blackout, he hadn't expected to miss the meeting, and had planned to pay him off.

Have you not concentrated on one thing that you just don't think about other things before? Eddie isn't knocking out a book in matter hours while every random memory from his life comes to his head.He can do those things because he focused and concentrated on the task at hand.

reply

I had the "if he's so smart" moment when he went to dose and found his tin empty, looking at it with an expression of surprise.

I had a "what the heck" moment when we find out that it wasn't the last of his stash, but he didn't dose when he needed to to finish the deal with Van Loon.

Yes. Using Portugal as an analogy is foreshadowing of Eddie's own eventual hubris.

I loved the movie, by the way. Big Fun!
