They aren't as good as some of the films already listed, but they are decent.

Add The East to my list. Really underrated.

Some absolutely excellent suggestions here. I am curious which State of Play is being suggested. I only ask because I had seen (and loved) the original UK mini-series an I felt the US adaptation was a bit lacking.
Mind you, if you see the US version first, then you might prefer that version. You know how it is. I'd also recommend Veronica Guerin (but do not watch the trailer first!)
Watch the heart pounding, edge of your seat thriller, best acting foreign film from Luis Mandoki's "Innocent Voices (2004)". Do also go through my full favorite movie list and have fun watching them. :)

My Favorites - http://www.imdb.com/list/ls008891086/
Frances starring Jessica Lange and her husband, Sam Shepherd. Hollywood in the 1930's meets insane asylum abuses.
Serving in Silence starring Glenn Close as a military (Naval, I think) Officer who is also a lesbian.
The Stoning of Saroya M. will disturb you. There is no way to be human and to not be disturbed by this story. It's a journalist and the story he reveals about a village practicing sharia law.
A Normal Heart starring Mark Ruffalo about the early days of the AIDS crisis and how activists saved lives.
Attack on Darfur is disturbing. I don't use the word lightly. Every single person, male or female, who watched this film literally screamed more than once. The actors are survivors of a recent genocidal raid, full of murder, torture, rape and unbelievable acts of cruelty. They are re-enacting what happened without a script. Imagine re-enacting watching your baby get killed while you are being raped and it actually happened to you? This is how badly these people need outsiders to know what is going on, so it will disturb you but I think if they can bear it, well then I can bear learning their story. Please don't watch this when kids are near enough to hear it or possibly see it.
Amazing Grace about the early English abolitionist, Wilbur Wilburforce. He overcame great odds over a long period of time to ultimately, change the standards of what human rights meant in a civilized society. He went on to influence many other areas of life. Amazing story, beautifully written, acted to perfection with an impressive cast.

god no. this quack does the same thing that governments do just to get people wondering and enough exposure to his bs and people start to believe him. i saw him speaking at a convention that would make any person on earth know for a fact he should be shot twice in the head instead of the reporter from kill the messenger
shareGod yes, he was still exposing the disgusting US manipulation in another country, he exposed it and was killed.
Talk about free speech in America.
Anyway- other films are 'Marathon Man', 'Three days of the Condor' and 'Nixon'.
