Was the girl in the wrong for sleeping with Seth's roommate?

She made plans with Seth's character & she sleeping with his roommate. Then she gets mad at him for being pissed.

He was trying to start a relationship & you do something like that.

no, its a date. even after the date she could still have sex with whoever she wants. she owes no commitment to staying pure for him before the wilco show. she can screw whoever she wants

I never understood nonsense like this. If you go on a date, and there might be a second, it's ok for you to sleep with a third person? Girls like that are sluts, pure and simple.

she is single and he can do whatever the hell she wants, you're all a whole bunch of prudes.

Arete just closed this damn topic. I was going to say something, but I don't think I could add anything to that.

Everyone who thinks its ok, just reverse the situation and imagine Ira is the one walking out of her roommate's bedroom, and she is the one with feelings hurt. Still feel the same about it?

I still believe. Do you still believe? - Earl Hickey

Just imagine this, boys. You're out, at a party, whatever. You meet and start talking to this girl who's kind of chubby, a little goofy-looking but not unatractive, just kind of cute. You have a nice conversation, she seems friendly, if a little lame. She asks you out on a date and you think, "why not, she's nice enough, dates are usually a pretty good time, if it sucks I don't have to see her again."

Her roommate on the other hand, whom you've met before, is pretty smokin'. She's not sweet and cute, but she's got a killer body and she constantly oozes sexual vibes. She's also borderline famous, and the kind of girl who would never look at you. One day, while the girl you agreed to go out on a whim with is away for a few days, this bangin' roommate invites you over. You hang out, you get pretty damn drunk and while you're watching a movie in her room, she starts making out with you.

Are you really trying to say that while she's grinding her chest and flat stomach against you, maybe wrapping a leg around your waste, kissing to show you this is definitely on, that you would be thinking, "no. I am morally obligated to whatserface, and only after the date and after I have told her thank-you but we shall never see each another again, only then may I continue in these amorous activities with her smokin-hot actress roommate." Do you really believe you wouldn't go through with it?

The question wasn't about whether people would do it or not. It was about if she was wrong for doing it. Which she was. Even if you reverse genders like in your post, it's still wrong of the guy for doing it.

It's just basic respect to not sleep with someone the person you made a date with knows. No ones suggesting she be executed for it, just that it made her an *beep* and in the wrong. Which is true.

reply

I might go through with it, but I'd feel bad about it, and I'd know that she was in the right for being pissed about it. And after the fact I wouldn't accuse her of being the unfair one.

reply

There is no wrong. However, she messed up her market value.

Ira shouldn't have a relationship with her after he found out about it. He should just screw her and then look for another girl to have a relationship with instead.

Go with the flow, basically. Sucks for her, but c'est la vie, you always get what you put in.

reply

Yea, she did it to get ahead and that isn't a trait if you want a serious girlfriend. She was just a screwjob and Seth got the girl because Seth gets the girl in his films. If this were real, they'd be broken up by now. Skank, user, thot. Period.

reply

The movie makes it seem like Ira is in the wrong, but yeah, her actions are questionable, you might want to think twice before sleeping with someone's room-mate if you're going out with them. The fact that they weren't actually dating yet doesn't matter.
