All the action was in the trailer

A lot left unexplained and for the most part a snooze fest. Pass if you can.

Yes and no, but that's really not the point of the movie. I watched the movie. There is more to the movie than just all the crazy action. Plus it wasn't a snooze fest. I remained interested the whole time, and I watched the movie tired/about ready to fall asleep any second (I'm even typing this comment/reply immediately after watching the movie). I think the marketing shouldn't have marketed it as some full blown action movie though and that there would be explosions and deaths/kills every five seconds. But I wouldn't say every. single. thing. was given away in the trailer/marketing. Of course, I only saw the one trailer too and maybe one or two TV spots, so I wouldn't know for sure. But I don't recall seeing every single thing action related in the trailer and the TV spot or two that I watched/saw. Some stuff seemed like it was saved for the actual movie.

I felt like there could've been more but where this movie failed was not fleshing out Santa and his lore/backstory. They teased us with a few flashbacks but that was it. The remaining bits that weren't action were silver spoon'd douchebags bickering over money.

^^ This. I was expecting to see John Wick meets Olympus has Fallen but instead was "sort of" both with long periods of dialogue in between.

That's a bit of a disappointment for me :( I was hoping for full blown action. Though I guess, even die hard had a lot of content between the action sequences.

Don't watch trailers. Or develop short term memory problems like me.

reply

That's why I only watch teasers. 2 minute trailers nowadays are basically just a recap of the film.

Super annoying.

Don't listen to this guy. This movie was fun as hell. If you are expecting the godfather then skip it. but if you want a fun rated R xmas movie with an original plot then go see it. I laughed my ass off.

That's your opinion and I can respect it but be honest; most, if not all of the action scenes were in the trailer, no?
