I was REALLY surprised to see a new superhero series with a blond white male character and a red-hair female lead

In general, blond white males are by default psychopaths or laugh material. And for some reason, Hollywood seems to hate red-hairs, to the point it's actually blackwashing every red-hair character.

And suddenly, you see this image

And it was like, WHAT THE FUCK, I was genuinely surprised, that goes against everything modern Hollywood holds dear. I just couldn't imagine modern Hollywood making a movie about superheros with those two main characters, out of the blue... that's like suddenly watching Hitler praising Jews. It's just... weird. I thought 'that isn't possible!'.

Well, it happens that those two aren't the lead characters. They're the villains.

In the trailer the blond one seems to be a psychopath. And the series is about the people who fight those evil 'heros', and that group is diverse and dark-haired, of course.

So, no surprise after all. Damn, I hate being always right, but it's so bloody easy, nowadays :-(
