All the negativity on this board...

And all I've seen literally everywhere else is overwhelmingly positive. The reasons for those negative posts are all bullshit right wing snowflake whining, of course. There is just so much of that on this site and it's incredibly discouraging. Very reminiscent of why the IMDb boards got shut down. Sad, sad stuff. I love the purpose of these types of boards, but they are just overrun with nutjobs.

you're confused,
snowflakes are libtards

reply

Snowflakes are anyone who is easily offended. Which includes many conservatives

Conservatives did invent the epithet, but it has evolved since then

This site is filled with conservative snowflakes

reply

incorrect, some conservatives may be sensitive and fly off the handle, but they are no snowflakes,
it's like calling someone from India an injun.... those are actually Native Americans

Incorrect

Why are you so offended about conservatives you snowflake?

The lady doth protest too much.

Can you list out some memorable & favorite scenes of yours from this film, please.

Just curious to see what overwhelmed you.

Prey is being praised on the woke mainstream media and across woke-controlled social media, in the real world people can see it’s yet more woke crap, and because Moviechat actually respects free speech you’re getting a rare glimpse of reality here.

reply

Or it could just be a very bad movie. I'm just watching it now, and I think it's terrible.

reply

And I think it's a good movie.
Neither perfect nor winning an Oscar, but I liked it.
A young woman supported by her dog fights the evil.
A young human looks for an own place in (Comanche) society.

So, what are we doing now?
Who's right?
Who's wrong?

reply

You're allowed to like it.
I didn't find much to like about it.
The whole idea of this Predator coming to Earth to engage in a hunt,
and then it has invisibility and all these high-tech killing gadgets seems
somewhat less than sporting.
The Indian girl and her brother were at least played by actual Native Americans, so that's good.
Takes me back to when I watched the original Predator movie, it was entertaining, but at least at the time it was fairly original, but I still did not like it.
The idea that a young woman can change Native American culture to conform with the sensibilities of the 21st century just seems hard to take - for me.

reply

Ok, that's partly your personal taste.
I don't like James Bond and barely dare to say that (facing shitstorm). 😶

Back to Prey:
Need to admit that the end (after the fight) appeared somewhat corny.
Then again there had been always societies in which women had more say then in our culture during the last centuries, means about 1400-1960.
Even in our culture in that said past were some outstanding women.
Elizabeth I. or Catherine II. to name a few.
So, that's no problem for me or looks "woke" to me.

And not to forget, she had the support by her dog. 🐕
This American Dingo is my favourite anyhow.
Yep, I know that's silly. ☺

reply

Just changed my opinion.
It's not silly. ☺

reply

I'm not American so I don't know anything about right wing, left wing, whatever politics, I have no clue.

I can just say that from an entertainment level, it's borderline insulting to call this movie better or even on-par to the original 87 movie.

Prey is significantly better than The Predator which Shane Black wrote/directed in 2018.

I just watched this the other day and thought it was Fantastic.. The fight with the Bear is the highlight. Not really sure though how a sequel would work??
