Absolute dog shit.

The cast is like a bunch of Twilight rejects. They're all skinny and act too modern. They way they speak and mock one another makes them even less imposing than they already look.

The French trappers? πŸ˜†πŸ€£πŸ˜‚ They were all incompetent goofs. Total goobers.

That girl taking out a bunch of hunters and the Predator? The war cry when she killed it? Laughable. Absolutely laughable.

And of course it doesn't look like the classic creature. Do they never learn?! That's 3 movies in a row now they pissed all over the iconic monster for their own "newer and better" creation.

There was nothing good about this movie. There was no tension. The action sequences were flat and anticlimactic. Anticlimactic action is the worst. It reminded me of Twilight, a CW comic book show, or one of those countless attempts to ripoff Twilight: lame goofy action you see in genre movies aimed at women. I don't know why, but those movies and shows aimed at women always have cheap action.

It reminded me of Halloween Kills or that last Matrix movie: a cheap knockoff of earlier movies in the series. An poor imitation. A parody.

Don't even get me started on the CGI animals.

There was not a single thing about this movie that I liked.

Previous posts from yourself;

I wouldn't regard any of this woke DTV crap as canon. They're not even calling it "Predator".

she probably doesn't even break a nail the whole film.

that fookin b*tch looks like she couldn't do 10 pushups.

You were against this film from before you even saw it. Calling it 'woke' and rambling about the lead being a Woman.

And here you are ranting about the film having 'lame goofy action aimed at women' whilst also completely denigrating entertainment content marketed to women.

You seem particularly offended by women for some reason. Did her taking out a couple of hunters and a predator insult your masculinity? Did it offend your 'boys are better than girls' belief system?

Maybe stick to the original with it's muscle fetishism and male fantasy idolism. Those big beefy boys surely can do 10 pushups. Oh Arnold what big muscles you have. *swoons*

were you born a pussy or did society make you that way?

reply

A little from column A, a little from column B.

reply

You keep complaining about women, people being 'skinny' and lacking in physical strength.

You seem to have a literal muscle fetish coupled with a severe dislike of women.

So tell me on a scale of 1 to 10 how homoerotic do you like your films? I have you pegged down for a full blown 10. It's funny as the people who love homoerotic films are often the type to hate the LGBT community and 'agenda'.

Imagine if Prey was like the original! Roided up goons flexing their muscles (which are covered in oil...hhhmmmm). Oh yes, it would be so much better. Is it just me or is it getting hot in here? #NoGirlsAllowed

What is also funny is that people who claim to love the homos use the description of being a homo as an insult.

Weird. It’s like it’s the default position.

I just have a few questions……

How many nazi tattoos do you have?

How many push-ups can you do?

Does it piss you off when you see a woman driving a car?

It's 2022, if you aren't against a film before you see it you are a moron and/or political hack.

It's a tribe version of the Predator set in the beautiful American woods. It was relaxing and interesting. The white men made the predator situation interesting and looked reference quality. Only bad thing about it is the damn threat that I'm going to be killed like everyone else by these damn unstoppable scary things... like watching others get killed by them though in the movies.

reply

That's exactly what we need . . . a relaxing Predator movie.

This is a C&P of a post I made on Facebook a while back and it still reflects what I see as a major issue in Hollywood: virtue-signaling.

I don't see virtue-signaling in quite the same way that many do, it seems. Some seem to see it, if I am not mistaken, in terms of reflecting current social trends, and I see it as being sanctimonious, proclaiming a virtue that is not really there.

In my writing, I give female and minority characters a prominent place, but it is also one that accurately portrays the times and culture in which the story takes place. If I were writing about 9th century Vikings, I see no reason to include Black characters, for example, and if the story concerns a little boy from the 1950s, it will have methods of child-rearing appropriate to that era.

In my story, The Pale Horse, set in a post-apocalyptic USA in the early 21st century, I have both Black and Jewish heroes, villains and victims. One of the main good guys is a Hispanic cop. Another is a young guy who is disabled, with everything that that entails. Even though he has been dead for more than a century, the main villain is a German, whose poisonous ideology still infects many today. No; it's not Hitler, it is Karl Marx.

And females are given a prominent place as well, as good guys, bad guys, and victims. The USAF security forces is the prominent unit of the US military surviving in the novel and females serve admirably in that group. Two of the primary scoundrels are women, one of them a German terrorist, and the other is a Marxist fanatic, the partner of the main bad guy.

reply

(continued)

Is this virtue signaling on my part? Hardly The target audience for my book, that is the group it is most likely to appeal to, is conservative men. If I were to introduce the previously-mentioned Blacks in a story of 9th century Vikings and tell how the best warrior that they had was a female, how the men respected her prowess as a fighter, and how this was very common, all in an attempt to appeal to minorities and modern females, THAT would be virtue signaling.

My argument is not with stories reflecting us as we are, it is with the sometimes twisted means of signaling virtues that are not really there in the first place just to generate admiration that is not deserved.

Good review. You neglected to mention the laughable predator v wolf scene, that was oh so special.

reply

yeah, that was particularly laughable.

reply

You sound like the Negative Nancy. Who watches movies with the so-called hate boner

reply

you sound like an idiot who thinks this movie is good.

reply

welcome to 2022 where 110lb girls are the action hero. So the Predator went from taking out whole seal teams and drug cartels and special forces to oh a girl with an axe, yeah that's my kryptonite!

reply

"The Predator"? There is only one? I'm sure there is more than one. Do they all have to equally dangerous?

reply

ugh, maybe you missed it, but mary sue also took out an entire camp of men one after the other.

reply

This movie bored the fuck out of me.

reply

The only reason the French are in this is to show how evil they are and how great and wonderful she is. That's it.

The axe wound me up. Just throw it into trees and pull it back. Its rope not bungie cord. You pull that thing back it is not coming back in a straight line. Kinda reminds me of Spiderman with Cap in Civil War where he says that the shield doesn't follow the laws of physics this is the same.

The 2nd act drags on way longer than it needs to. The constant reminder she is breaking gender norms gets tired very quickly.

The action I will admit was pretty good, gore, sometimes cut away to quick but for the most part was ok.

The Flintlock just for member berries with no rhyme or reason for being there. Do the Predators come back and wipe them out to get to give to Harrigan. Plot hole created for no reason now.

It was a 5/10. It was ok, nothing great. Not sure where the love in has come from. Some calling it a masterpiece and on a level with the first, Utter nonsense.

Thought on par with Predators, no where near as good as 1st two. The Predator doesn't get a mention as the AVP films are better than that pile of steaming shit.
