ABC officially cancelled this :( as allways ABC kills a great show

ABC is the worst channel... it's where show's get picked up to die.
They always get sign the best cartoon's and kill them off. They make sure to advertise them as little as possible so they can can them right away... almost as if they just buy the shows so other networks won't have them.

this is just like when they bought Clerks Animated aired 2 episodes and canceled it before even showing them all.

Also let's not forget how popular "The Critic" was... after they reran it on Fox that is... a year after it was canceled by ABC who failed to promote it.

if you ever make a great cartoon show and you want it to actually have a good run... keep it away from ABC!!!!

I hope Mike Judge get's another new cartoon by next year... one that's on a channel that actually keeps good shows on... NOT ABC... because ABC is crap!

personally I think those are good rating considering they never bothered promoting the show... If i didn't read about the show on Mike Judge's IMDB i wouldn't have even known it existed... i haven't seen even a single flyer or sign here in Manhattan, where every show on television has at least a side walk poster... it's not like people watch ABC at random... you know because nothing good is ever on it... unless your a grandma and you actually like that sort of Drama Soap line up. blah

Gee, I sure hope Extract does well at the box office now, since it has actual publicity.

Otherwise, this won't have been that great a year for Mike Judge.

I DVR'd/watched each episode of The Goode family, it sucks no season two.

ABC does have a poor track record of getting rid of quality animated programs FAR too early, imagine if the Simpsons had been cancelled after the first seson!

I'm not entirely sure wtf they were expecting?

This show is way to weird (read: awesome) for the timeslot. It, from the beginning, looked more like a sleeper hit from adult swim, building up audience over time. It took me 3 episodes to get into it, also, which would make it logical to give it longer running times.

*sigh*

I almost missed this, too. Found out about the show a week before it apparently got "officially canceled". "From the creators of Beavis & Butthead" alone would have sold me. But I only found it on accident, getting all my information about it from this IMDB entry...

The producers are trying to move it to a new channel......... Cartoon network, Adult Swim style i'd say, a near perfect fit.

Agreed, this seems like the sort of show that would have done much better were it on Adult Swim/Cartoon Network in the first place. I'm sad that ABC cancelled them, but with any luck someone else will pick it up.

Thing is I don't know how long this show can stay fresh.. I like it, but there is only so much that can be done before it gets overdone unless they use current events which they won't..

the critic did not actually get canceled by fox... you see fox just bought the right to re-air the same episodes that ABC had made. ABC did not sell them the show or give them permission to make more, they just rented FOX the right to re-run the series for a limited time. ABC still's owns the critic which is why the DVD set had the ABC logo. Had ABC sold the show to FOX (and not rented), there would have in fact been new episodes.

Ok.. The Goode Family wasn't terrible, but it was far from 'great'. So let's clear that up right away.

Adult Swim? Doesn't really feel right for this show... not unless they intend on dumbing it down and getting more 'wacky'...

I want to say Comedy Central... but almost the same thing applies.
In reality I think ABC's demographic was a good fit for this show. They just didn't really schedule it right... and it's hard enough in the first place to be a 'summer hit'.

I honestly think it would have it's best shot, and fit, on FOX... in the slot King of the Hill used to have. I bet it would be successful there.

They run a business! They are not going to run a show that does not get the ratings they want. They don't make money that way. What do you expect?
