Can YOU have a sense of Humor about YOURSELVES?!

People have demanded that Christians and Conservatives tolerate jokes that their expense. I hope that when the 'satire gun' is turned a bit, that people on the other side of the aisle can handle a bit of fun at their expense. We all know that the right side of the aisle gets dumped on constantly! LETS HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR! Don’t preach to the 'right' and then get fussy when you get a little bit of what you've given! I'm not saying this show is right or left but people on message boards are already huffing and puffing about the jokes played at the environmentalists & liberals expense. These are probably the same people who watch Lil' Bush, American Dad and Family Guy and laugh with glee at each time a Christian or Conservative is Zinged.

Freedom of speech rocks! You zing me & I can zing you! It's all good! We can both take a closer look at ourselves and laugh at our quirks! THIS IS SUCH A GREAT COUNTRY! LAUGH AT YOURSELVES! We all know you've been demanding the same of others for quite some time!

I agree with OP. I mean, King of the Hill was a more Conservative television show. It was cancelled by a lesser, Seth MacFarlane show which is obviously a show with a huge liberal agenda up it's ass. I just don't get it. I'm not a conservative and I find this pretty annoying. Liberals can't take a joke.

I am a liberal, a lesbian, and an environmentalist. The Goode Family has made fun of me on several different occasions. I don't think it's offensive - I don't understand why anyone would. It's just a TV show. Though it is a little rude to say that "liberals can't take a joke" when many actually liked the show. I liked it, I thought it was decently funny. When I laughed the most was when I realized that sometimes I acted just like Helen or Bliss. Haven't we all at some point? Get past the politics - it's keeping you back from the start. If you walk in thinking it's offensive, it will be to you. It's just a TV show, people. Calm down.

I completely agree. If Adult Swim can have Moral Orel, then I think it's only fair to have a show like this..even if it only lasts as long as Moral Orel did.

That is very true. If Someone's part of a specific group of society and can't take jokes at the expense of that group, he/she has absolutely no right to make/laugh at jokes at the expense of other groups.

"Yeah, people need to lighten up. Have a sense of humor people. It's better to have a sense of humor that either bashes no one or both. That's why I love South Park. It seems that most of the time except for episodes such as Trapped in the Closet are on both sides of the argument, and I can handle that."

I agree. I'm as far to the left as they come but I can take a joke. South Park definately has a center right leaning but the humour is usually done well. South Park has even made fun of itself in the cartoon wars episode. The Goode Family is so so, not terrible, but in contrast to it's name, isn't very good. The humour isn't offensive, but it's not hilarious either. But here I'll admit my bias, my humour is definately of the dark variety, so relatively tame shows tend to bore me. Shows like South Park & Family Guy are both funnier because both are willing to go over the top more. It's really hard to compare a few mild environmental jokes on the Goode Family with the kind of environmental jokes South Park makes, or for that matter Cartmen tricking a kid into eating his parents!

Yeah, that's just one of the countless moments in South Park where the viewer is just left saying, "umm... that....aah....What the *beep*?"

I too love dark humor.

Exactly so. But there is also the opposite. If they want hegemony, they will have to fight for it, and then my hegemony is stronger. Bye bye.

I'm a liberal and I love this show.
